The Witcher - Netflix Series

Figured there are enough fans of the Witcher series (or at least Witcher 3) that this news deserved it's own thread.

Henry Cavill has been cast as Geralt. Cavill played Superman in the new DC films (Man of Steel, BVS & Justice League).

The first season will be 8 episodes long.

Good first choice for actors at least. Been sold on Cavill as an actor since he did The Tudors a decade ago.

I'm a little less certain some of the creative staff on the series though.

Also worth mentioning is this is an adaptation of the books rather than the games. Most who care probably know but its worth throwing in a reminder every once in awhile.

Love the game and the world, but I can’t say I’ve ever been drawn to a TV show or movie from a game. We’ll see though. If the reviews are good, I might try it.

That's a good point. The lore (Eastern European if I recall) is pretty good. I'm sure I'll talk my wife into at least starting the series.

Well that’s disappointingly inaccurate - Geralt should have two swords on his back - one silver, one steel (or meteorite - whatever).
