Would anybody else just rather be in the Big East at this point?

If aTm were to leave, and the Big 12 added BYU (good, realistic option) and ND (good option, but a big-time longshot), then no way. aTm is the source of the instability right now, and if they get out and the conference adds to more strong assets, then it's a win-win.

I am member of that site (paying) and Tarp does not post these conclusions unless he has verified all sources.

Up until yesterday, he was in the it is not going to happen camp

I will not post details, but if he is reporting it as such, I would forecast it is a 98% of its being accurate and on target.

It really is hard to distinguish which websites are just looking for traffic and new subscribers and which are reporting the truth.
My guess is just A&M leaves and the Oklahoma and Oklahoma State follow after a couple of years.

Dude, just post details please. This is kind of a big deal, so we need info...

Didn't he post that A&M to the SEC was all but a done deal last year as well? I'm not arguing that this isn't happening, just that these "journalists" that run these websites just want to be the first with any sort of information. I call it "The Chip Brown" affect.

If Oklahoma and OSU are staying (assuming an Aggie departure), I would call it imperative to make some solid additions and get some positive momentum for the conference.

Going with the "we can make it work" approach is probably just prolonging the eventual pain.

Now, if we actually see 3 teams go to the SEC, this party gets wild.

not if OU and Texas say there is still a bigXII. Its all about money, not lack of drama. The BigEast is gonna get raided too...then will you panic and say maybe we should go MWC?
If Oklahoma and Texas stay obviously we have to as well. I am just getting tired of not knowing what conference we will be in in a couple years.

The Big 12 will not be adding ND. Ever. BYU would be a good option but who knows what will happen. I don't think a 9 team conference can survive very long.

For another year? ISU should be looking at their exit strategy too before it is too late. If the Big East is interested, ISU would be a fool to turn it down at this point. Basically ISU is hoping to get a big payday for a couple of years while risking mediocre paydays for years to come. I would take the for sure thing.
The Big East money is second tier.

The conference is as stable as OU says it is. Texas is Texas...they are fine and won't move until they have to. OU is the wildcard and the trumpcard. What OU does...so goes the conference.

This doesn't add anything that we don't already know because it is referencing AggieYell.com.

I will assume nothing until Chip Brown churps in.

That was the idea. That author was making the point that the only current source, at least at the time of writing, was a pay site that could be trolling for subscribers.

I won't be surprised at all if the aggies go, I'll be surprised if they stay. Point there was that nobody official or important is really reporting this yet.

Why do people keep talking about ND like it's even a remote possibility? It isn't.

Also, I could definitely seeing this playing out like the B12 South to the Pac 10 last year. That is, it's almost happens, Rivals reports it as such and then it falls apart.

It is a paid site, and I will not post details that violate that point (without permission, which I have asked persmssion to from Tarp)
Summary:
The LHN change was the last straw and the A&M Board of Regents will vote to change at the 8/22 meeting.

This is somewhat true, but OU is going to see the writing on the wall, that the Big 12 is a wounded fish, as the sharks circle. They might become proactive in order to save their future.

Wrong person., the post last year was a different site writer, this is the Publisher.
And, no he is not trolling for subscribers. I know him well, and he does not operate that way. Until yesterday, he was downplaying all as just smoke.

Their future is FINE. OU has an out anytime they want it. This year, next year, 10 years from now. They won't jump until they are sure this party is over.
