It's been like this for years. This shouldn't be a shock to anyone. Messingham got fired last year. How has Wally survived all this time? He should've been fired a long time ago. He's terrible. He makes zero adjustments in game (not that it would help anything). Rhoads should be fired alone for not firing Wally.

I am more frustrated with how clueless the d line and linebackers are. I can live with the system, it is what it is. It can be successful if executed. But the whole thing is predicated on having stud LBs. So how come we are short on LB talent/skill/experience?

People gripe a lot when teh offense system doesn't match the talent of the players you have. But it can happen on defense too.

3 rd and 19 and we have four linebackers 7 yrds deep all next to each other and no Jayhawk in sight.

I have never seen a team that dont understand that when its 3 and 20 that the other team is going deep. Then when its 3 and 2 we give a cushen. Its almost unreal to me how teams convert long distance plays when we know they need a bunch of yards.

We don't have a single big 12 caliber LB on the entire roster. I'm not sure there is any other power 5 team on which our LB's would see the field. They aren't the only issue but when your defense is built around your LBs and they consistently miss tackles, you don't stand a chance.

We have defensive players??? I didn't see the other team being stopped, so just assumed we cleared the field and let them run any plays they wanted to get 100 yards.

Jack Whitver commented yesterday on the post game show that we have several guys starting on defense that should not be playing Big 12 football. This should not come as a shock to anyone. Rhoads has not been able to develop players since he has been here.

John was frustrated on the radio yesterday by all the long 3rd down conversions

If JW is frustrated, there is a problem. A few weeks back Heft was sounding like he did midway through the 2006 season. You knew it was over for McCarney at that point.

I heard JW say that too. He has to be talking about all 3 linebackers and our 260 lb DT. No business being on the field in year 6.
Walters is such a homer that says a lot.

No confidence that our defense can keep the next three games under 500-600 yards offense. That means the offense will need to pull their heads out from the sand on those three and outs. If TomF head action is tipping the blitzers, we need to change it in the next two weeks. Is that long enough for a team makeover?

The only hope I have for our defense is our safeties. The only two players I see potential out of right now. Tribune maybe.
