Tang gonna Tang

Their AD is not handling the press conference well so far in my opinion.

He mentioned how the last couple of years haven't gone as well as expected. I think that undermines his claim for firing Tang with cause. Not meeting expectations for success is not cause for firing.
Having coming from Iowa (previously ‘NDSU) not handling it well, comes as no surprise. He pulled Kleiman from NDSU, see what he does now - before he gets let go prior to his contract end - 2030. NDSU winning their MBB league 11-1 (21-6 overall)

I wonder if it’s possible they could “reassign” him to some bs “admin” position within the athletic department to at least make him have to show up for work for a while to at least to lower that buyout?
Maybe You could theoretically reassign him, but his contract was to be bb coach. And even if you could reassign him, no way his buyout doesn’t get paid. And you don’t want him hanging around…demotions don’t work. He could affect the morale in the mail room.

Lawyers driving this bus. It will be a negotiated settlement, Tang will not be tagged with contract violations, university will insist on non-compete clause, and that’s it. Surely the big KSU donors made this happen. Prediction of 9 to 10 million vs. the 18 is probably a good one.

But why? Why would the buyout be less, let alone half of what is owed?

Because if Tang doesn't agree to a lower buyout settlement, his only recourse is to sue KState, and then he risks the court system awarding him nothing at all plus having to pay expensive legal bills for a civil trial.

On the other hand, his civil trial could result in KState having to pay him the full $18 million plus all of his legal fees.

Which option would you take, let's say a $9 million settlement to just go away quietly or a long, expensive, and messy civil trial that will result in you being awarded $0 to $18 million?

This is easy for me to say, but I think I'd call KState's bluff and take them to court.

I believe there are two shaker bars in Manhattan. I wonder if Tang ever "did the cannonball" there, too. That would be the most insane vid of all time, but sadly, if such a thing existed it surely would have surfaced by now.

Forced the team to do some locker room prayers, and one or more players are not Christian?

Gambling on the side?

Under the table player payments outside the official NIL loop?

Those are about the only things I can think of short of outright physical or sexual harassment.
Didn't Prohm require team prayers?

If this goes to a trial, then this thread will end up being the longest thread in CF history.
And all because of spygate. He really drove himself to the top of most hated opposing coaches with that accusation. ISU fans have had lots of coaches we razz but it was because they were good coaches with good teams, but after spy gate Tang just became public enemy #1 in ISU fandom.
