Tennessee could leave their entire defense at home and Iowa still wouldn't score.

Yes. Kind of like a very early Spring game.
His opting out helps ISU as well. A possible replacement gets the extra reps with the ones during the extra practices. It is amazing how fast it's become expected for players entering the draft to not play in the bowl games.

I agree and I hope he has the link to WE WILL.Go have a 10 year nfl career kid. Thanks for being a Cyclone!
Hopefully Memphis wasted time preparing for him to play.
Smart move, go get paid!

Other than the championship level bowls they are just exhibition games for the benefit of school fans and TV advertisers.
If the advertisers are still interested, that means there are people watching that find them interesting.I'd put TV advertisers/local businesses and anyone who makes money as the main and maybe only reason they've existed.
Nothing trollish about this and it doesn't say anything about an ISU player but the state of college football overall. I have zero problems with Clark's take. It’s amazing how fast hawk trolls have takes on ISU players’ status for bowl games.
What you did there, I see it.Honestly at this point I think it is time to flush the bowl system. Maybe we go to an even larger playoff. Lower divisions manage it. I still watch these games, but when you have double digit numbers of players opting out for a single team it is really hard to take the results of these things seriously.
Good lord. Iowa might hang 17 on em.

I don’t really find a lot of the bowls too interesting, but I don’t really get the idea that they are so different. All of CFB is really a TV product, and with a four team playoff, a vast majority of games have zero impact on the playoff anyway.
TJ has contributed as much or more to the program this season as anyone on the team even if he doesn't play in the bowl. Sounds like cutting your nose off to spite your face.Great for TJ and all others who do this - I support their decisions. Serious question though - how much NIL and scholarship money should they give back for not honoring their full commitment like the other 100 guys on the roster? Seems they want their cake and eat it too. Good luck TJ!
