NBA: Summer 2018 Off Season Thread

Agree, it's an awkward fit for sure. LeBron would likely have to play off the ball, right? Which I think he can do. Simmons almost has to have the ball in his hands it seems.

LBJ ain't goin' anywhere to be an off-ball guy.

He's one of the best PGs in the league. You need him holding the rock.

He's only a career 34.4% 3PT shooter, too.

Lakers! Now they have to make other massive moves. Trade for Kawhi? Trade for Kemba? Sign Boogie?

They need to get a second scorer and that isn’t Lonzo. Lebron teams need someone to keep the scoring going when he’s taking one of his breaks in the second half. I don’t know what the lineup will be but no way he goes to the Lakers without them having laid a plan in front of him that is substantially different than what the team currently is.

That was very quick. I did not expect that. I'm betting some more dominoes start to fall quickly now, too.

They better have more coming. They got nothin' right now.

Even if they do have Boogie and/or Kawhi comin' down the road, their front court is super young. I do not know how this is a contender. A starting PG and SG of Lonzo and Ingram is not going to be ready to win a championship for at least a few seasons.

Picking up Kawhi probably means trading some of that young talent, too.

Not nabbing PG13 hurts. A lot.

They need Kemba or something.

The more Ive read about the Ariza deal the more I like it, he'll be traded for assets in the middle of the season and he can mentor the younger wings until that point. Its a win win for both sides I like it.

Yeah, that's not a roster that will compete in the West. Not for the finals anyway

woah if true Lebron to the lakers on a four year deal. Something else must be going down for him to pull the trigger so quick.
Gotta figure Cavs fans will be pissed that he agreed to a 4 year deal after only doing short deals with them. Still, LeBron is getting up there in age. The odds of him getting injured are only going to increase. He'll be 37 by the time the contract is done , if he exercises the option.

The haters on the ESPN forums and other places are out in full force today. Lebron ruined his legacy going to another team, will never get to the finals again, yada yada. I doubt Lebron went to LA on a whim. He seems to know what he is doing, so I am assuming some help is on the way soon.

Warriors have one more year until they have decisions to make, Houston is good, but Paul is injury prone, and James Harden turns on dissapear mode when it matters. He probably won't win next year, but it could get very interesting, depending on who else the Lakers get.

Thats the weird part, is that his home state and he consistently screwed them over with those short contracts he signed while forcing them to overpay his friends. I think he just has a serious beef with the owner thus he did it this way.

Very possible. He brought them a title, though, and 4 straight finals appearances. They really can't complain. ( But oh how they will)
