Suh Suspended for First Playoff Game

You mean kind of like how the NFL offices had video evidence of Ray Rice punching his fiance in the face and made it public as soon as they received it? Oh wait - they sat on that video and claimed they never saw it until the casino made the video public and claimed they gave the NFL office a copy of it.

Face it - it's the Packers. One of the NFL's "baby" franchises. They're too busy performing fellatio to that franchise to care if they do anything negative.

are you really comparing a recording taken off of a private security camera, with footage from a game that was broadcast in high definition to homes all across the US?

Stupid that it was reduced to a fine. This guy will never learn if he keeps getting a slap on the wrist.

Surely you can see that the two are not in any way related or comparable.

Wow, $70,000, that'll take him part of a regular season game to make back, that'll teach him.

Suh's hits on QB's have been much worse over the years, and he has been penalized by small fines. Stepping on Rodgers was perhaps the softest of his dirty plays, and he gets suspended for a playoff game. You will have a hard time convincing me that the QB he stepped on didn't have something to do with the stiff penalty.

Once again, this is coming from someone who will be cheering for Romo and the Cowboys, so I'm very happy Suh isn't playing against them.

Penalties by Suh over the years:

2010
Suh rips Delhommes head off - $7,500
Suh forearm punches Cutler to the head - $15,000

2011
Suh body slams Dalton - Fined $20,000

2012
Suh kicks Schaub in the man parts - Fined $30,000

2013
Suh helmet to the chest of Weeden - $31,500

2014
1 1/2 years after his last fine/penalty
Steps on the leg of Rodgers - Suspended for a playoff game

The fines didn't work so the league decided to send a message to Suh so perhaps he'll stop this idiotic behavior. It's not just Suh, but this whole team that has drawn attention to itself. I know Suh did well academic at Nebraska, but that obviously doesn't mean much.

Suh's suspension was overturned and instead has been fined $70k.

so, what does that do for your Packer fellatio theory? Ted Cottrell was appointed by the NFL to handle the appeal. Why would they allow the ban to be overturned? That takes all of the teeth out of their plans to protect their "baby franchise."

Apparently, the appeals process feels it does.

If you read the link you would learn that he was just past the number of games elapsing so he is no longer considered a habitual offender so his history was not part of the equation. The person hearing the appeal only took this incident into account, not his history.

Weird question -- but does anybody know if these fines are tax deductible for the players? The NFL donates them to charity, so I assume they can be deducted, but I don't really know.

The NFL is donating them to charity, not the player. I'll wager the NFL takes any available tax breaks although I doubt there is much there for them.

Disagree.

This isn't the first time Suh has done something dirty without getting fined. Guys do it to each other every play, just not to the golden boys.
Please elaborate, what dirty plays has he had where he hasn't at least been fined?

Well, I'm sure his cheap shot days are over now.
Might as well start placing bets on when his next cheap shot & fine happens.
