Stevie is out at UCLA

Jamie Dixon would be dumb to leave TCU. Cush job and they are getting better and better. No pressure at all. School he attended. I don’t think Hoiberg goes back to college.

We gave Fred a chance at head coaching that no other power 5 school would have given him and he brought ISU back to prominence. IMO both sides got something great out of it. I could cheer for him as an NBA coach, but screw that as a college coach at another school. I won't root against him exactly, but he would be a competitor against ISU so no way am I cheering for him. It's probably moot anyways since I don't believe he'll ever coach in college again.

True but Prohm is the one who built the relationship with Foster and his family.
Not to say Xavier isn't aware of Fred and his style could be a good fit but likely if he was going to UCLA (or USC) it is more to play in Cali for a historically great program rather than who the coach is. IMO
But with Alford there he may not have wanted to that badly. Now it might entice him more. To say the actual coach isn't a big factor is silly.

People really love jerking it to Fred going to coach at some other school. My grandma says he’s enjoying this break and is already planning on coaching in the NBA next year, the college thing went out the window when he left ISU he’s not coming back to college and a big part of that is loyalty to ISU.

My grandma says apricot brandy is the perfect thing to sooth a sore throat.

Stevie will be lucky to get a head coaching job at a respectable mid-major program. I'd bet he will end up an assistant at a high profile Power 5 school.

He's not going to stoop to an assistant coach. He'll be a head coach and if that falls through he will be an analyst for one of the Networks

You know who would kill at UCLA? Otz.

You know, this is actually a great thought and I agree. There is no way UCLA would hire him, however, as it would not be received well by the fan base. They need a proven big name, or risk serious fan backlash.

My guess is they will kick the tires on names like Donovan, Dixon, Few, Bennett, Hoiberg before settling on Musselman, Earl Watson, or possibly Gregg Marshall. BTW, it seems like Marshall is always tied to open gigs, but has decided to stay at Wichita. Perhaps now is the time? Would probably be received well, and could have some success there.
