Meh. If I had been one of those sources and still needed a job in the AD, I wouldn't go on the record. That's just asking for trouble.

You’re missing the point. Who says “near double digit” instead of 9? He was fluffing his own career, and he wanted to use ISU as a vehicle.

I missed the 12/22 game, so I've seen the Iowa and FAMU games back-to-back.
Both games featured a team that was unprepared, lacked of intensity, and played poor defense. He still doesn't play George Conditt enough. After hitting a three to go ahead (~ 1 minute left?), Prohm called a time-out and took the crowd out of the game. Really stupid. It wasn't a large or boisterous crowd, but given the circumstances, we were trying.

FAMU ran the same screen/curl action off the strong side base-line and we didn't defend it like 4 possessions in a row.

I'm not sure what Prhom did in the three weeks since the Iowa game but not only didn't we improve but we regressed. And yes, I know Tyrese was out.

This. Fred isn't coming back. Fans need to get over it. He was shopping NBA jobs for 2 years before he took the Bulls job. He built this program to benefit ISU and himself. It seems like both were an amazing fit and have both struggled since he has left. He is just not coming back to Ames to coach.

Im fine with that, but im sick of fans rewriting history in order to minimize the great job he did here or justify the job Prohm is doing. Hoiberg did an absolutely great job of rebuilding our program and handing it off in great shape to the next coach.

The bottom line is those were great years and an outstanding coaching job.

btw ... ESPN is listing it as the biggest upset in NCAA BB since 2007/08.

If I'm Tyrese, I declare for the draft and get out of Dodge -- why stay?

People are going to point out that we don’t have THT, Wigginton or Lard. THT is understandable, you can’t blame a kid for getting drafted. You can’t lose Wigginton to get undrafted. That’s on the coach. You can’t lose Lard to the G league because of his attitude. That’s on the coach.

Prohm is goin to have to realize he’s going to have to push harder for talent to stick around or else he won’t be sticking for long.

We basically lost Wiggington because Prohm mismanaged his situation so poorly last year.

Keep in my we had 3-4 professionals on that team last year. Which went 9-9 in conference and lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

What a glorious distinction. To lose that game you need to do both a poor job of recruiting and retaining talent, and a crap job of coaching.

As a reminder to everyone as well. A 16 beat a 1 seed for the first time ever and FAMU over ISU is still the bigger upset.

UMBC was a conference tournament champion that year, albeit from a horrible conference. They were also around #164 in the computer rankings, and came into the game 24-10. Losing to Florida A&M in Ames isnt even remotely close to the same as getting upset on a neutral floor like that.

If ISU plays like the Iowa and FAMU games the rest of the year Prohm will not return for next season.

This is quibbling, but now that I think about it, that 16-1 upset is bigger than a horrible team beating a crappy team in a nonconference game.
Actually, now with overnight and morning to sulk, I was way more crushed losing to Hampton. Even UAB.
Of course fan apathy is really what gets coaches fired.

Is there anything wrong with that? People do it all the time? Hines was trying to do what was best for his career in his opinion and it backfired. I can't blame a guy for trying. It's a dog eat dog world. Also everyone that has any sort of intelligence uses the framing effect.

Well, of course. Those were season ending losses and huge upsets on the national stage.

This was some random non conference game on NYE on CyTV. And was hardly shocking after other losses at Hilton.

Exactly. All three of those were bigger games than last night. It was the NCAA's - lose and you're done. Last night was a game in December. The season still goes on for over two more months.
