State Fair Dumps Coupon System

Funny; I only learned of the change to the coupon system today and it's already being dismissed. Quite the unpopular idea; is the Pewter family running the show over there or what?

It never ceases to amaze me that a group of pretty intelligent people can make such a decision, think it sounds good and needs to be done, and abandon the idea quickly as soon as it faces some skepticism.

Well if I was to step on my crank with my golf shoe I would pick up my foot as soon as I realized it rather than stepping on it with my other shoe as well.

I am glad they reversed their decision. To me, it seemed like they would have had to hire ticket sellers and provide booths for them to sell tickets, adding additional costs that would be made up somewhere.

I'm wondering if a Fair "higher up" surrounding themselves with "yes people" got this bright idea, and no one had the cajones to stand up to them and argue the absurdity.* Then, once it was announced and the general public revolted with sound arguments, they folded like a house of cards.

*= I'm going with this thought and not that no one who heard of this idea didn't think about the negative ramifications. Or, it was the Board president's idea, and they just steamrolled over everybody.
