Maybe I'm just so old I feel like I've seen everything, but I feel like the Disney+ Star Wars and Marvel content is overall not that interesting. Same characters, same plots, just dressed up differently, with none of it really hitting the mark. If you think their stuff os wonderful, then I'm happy for you. I wish I felt the same, I truly do.

I was never into super hero movies, except Batman, so I can't comment on the Marvel stuff. Also, I haven't watched The Acolyte yet. Not because of any protest, I just prefer to have the whole series waiting for me because I despise cliffhangers (Make an interesting show and I'll tune in. If it's good, I don't need you to tease me to get me to watch again, but that's a discussion for another day) So, I'll give it a go once the full season is there.
On a Star Wars note though, I really enjoyed Andor. I thought it was one of the best Star Wars things made since Rogue One. Maybe that's no surprise since those two are attached.
Sol is the best part for me. He's great, sincere like the typical Jedi heroes we love. The rest of the acting is ok, but the writing and overall logic so far has been less than stellar. Effects have been good, like a lot of the practical stuff so kudos to that decision. I still very much want to know who the villain is, but Ill be disappointed if its one of their mothers or that friend of hers. That would be a weak reveal to me. I want it to tie back more to the other Sith lords.

The Boys, its spinoff Gen V, and Kirkman’s Invincible are the best comics/sci fi series going right now. House of Dragons and X-Men 97 are probably the best things from the other streamers. I really like Star Trek Strange New Worlds but I’m not sure it’s for fans who weren’t along for the whole thing. It will be interesting to see how new episodes of The Mandalorian are whenever they finally happen.
For Sci-Fi/action movies it’s cool that we got two modern Mad Max classics and a great version of Dune. The Batman had elements of “WOW” in terms of it’s the only comics/scifi/action movie since Fury Road that even attempted to match the visual action, unless you count Maverick that was kind of a different thing.
The new Alien movie trailer looks very promising but I’m going in expecting a C hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
MCU is really not on my radar and I’m a guy with an embarrassing # of marvel comics long boxes in my closet.
Watched a breakdown video this morning. This isn’t a spoiler but how do you kill the Jedi without a weapon? It’s fear. Fear causes the Jedi to do things that are outside their character. Same story thread happened during the prequel movies that led to the downfall of the order.

I think the Marvel stuff is hitting like 20% that I'm happy I watched it and I've just given up completely on watching anything new on there unless the word of mouth is outstanding.
Star Wars is hitting about 50% in my opinion, with some truly great stuff (Mando season 1 and 2, and Andor). I'm more critical of the Marvel stuff than most people are but I'd go on to say that there hasn't been a truly even good Marvel TV show from start to finish. Great moments for sure but nothing I'd truly hang my hat on.

Action scenes were great. Villain so far is disappointing, but he looked good in battle. Trying to make himself look like a victim was stupid however. You’re Sith, own it. Sol is still the only character I care about, the others are expendable for me. Maybe that little guy who is their hunting dog. Ha.

The Acolyte seems pretty good so far, doesn't feel as 'childish' or something like that to me. Some brutal fight scenes, especially last night. I wanted Jecki to live. Although there were times I was annoyed with Yord I wanted him around as well.

Well thats the thing, they are leaving it open a bit. Made it seem like hes getting put into a box made by the Jedi. The Jedi as the real villain stuff doesnt sit with me. Yes they are "human" and make mistakes and have lost their mission a bit but I wont like it if they are painted as the galaxy's ultimate villain. And maybe it wont be that way and Im just spouting nonsense., I just hope is all. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I definitely dont hate the show. Lots I like about it actually as its progressed. Just needs a bit of tidying up. Is this a one and done? I guess I dont know if this is part of a larger world or if they will keep this particular story rolling.

I've seen/heard this show pitched as a 'dark side point of view' and while I'm not sure if that's an official, Disney-approved pitch, it does resonate with some of
Qimir's
dialogue in episode 5.
Before fighting Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith Anakin says "From my point of view, the Jedi are evil." We the viewers can see that's not the case, but we also understand why Anakin has arrived at that conclusion at that point in time. The Acolyte hasn't given us 2.75 feature films on the villain's backstory, but their dialogue revealed some of their motives. I suspect as we learn more about Sol/whatever happened on Brendok we will understand more.

All I will say is my son and I came to the same conclusion but in different ways about this not being a Sith. We've been right on guessing other things about this show. There are a couple of other things we've guessed, we'll see if those come true as well.
I came here to write just this. Man...really good episode, but it came with a pretty high body count, including one character I was beginning to enjoy.
