I know this is a long shot, but will Cyclones.tv televise the spring game? My daughter has prom so we can't get there........

Not sure CycloneTV will play it or not. I'm sure it will be recorded from several angles.

So after the allotted 15 spring practices (is that right?) and the spring game, they are done, fini, as far as coaching, until the fall? The players continue to work on their weight training/conditioning, and they can keep practicing their skills.

I wonder if position groups can have leaders, assigned to continue football skills, and what the coaches want to teach them, just without the coaches, over the rest of the spring and summer?

Did a little digging on cyclones.com. It seems you can watch some of the past spring games, but none more recent than April, 2017. Campbell phased out the spring game, which you knew. But there was a spring game last year, yes? It's not available for viewing, if so.

An educated guess here is that CMC has started up the spring game again (is this the 1st year back, or was there one last year also?), begrudgingly? and I'm not sure if he wants to televise it. I doubt if he does, considering his history. I could be wrong.

I would not expect it to be televised as it is hard to imagine that Campbell wants to give other coaches the opportunity to scout his team.

One thing I saw from one of Jared’s recent pieces and one of Conner’s recent pieces, is the mention of Beni Ngoyi being someone to watch during the spring game.

If you look closely in the background of one of the videos posted by ISU football, you’ll see Beni is on a knee scooter with his foot in a (soft?) cast. Not sure what’s going on there but I’m going to assume he won’t be playing in the spring game.

They could but that would take expense, effort and planning to have someone there this weekend. If/when they are shopping for video later the opportunity has passed. It isn't failsafe but why hand it to them?
And it really didn't make any sense to put out the film of the spring game, in years past, Rhoads era. Maybe they didn't put up (cyclone.tv) until the season was over, I don't know.

Why hand your opponents an edge?

Most big programs have their spring game televised. Unfortunately we aren’t a big time program.

I don't buy that argument.

On defense, Heacock has been our coach forever. So I'm sure he can play ISU's base defense and not give teams any new film.

On offense, sure we have a new OC. But does anyone really expect a "new" offense? I expect we will run 80% of the same offense as last 4-5 years. Just go with a core group of plays and base formations. I would think teams could study UNI's blocking schemes to see any changes up front.
