That was not funny, that was just stupid. Does Andy understand football, has he heard of Christian McCaffrey?

I’m sure he has and that’s the point. White running backs that produce at a high level are basically non-existent in P4 or NFL.

The bit was kind of funny- he said it without saying it. But…if he had taken a little artistic license with any other race with the same content, he’d have been fired. There’s a racial double-standard that our society is generally ok with.

There’s a part of me that thinks people need to relax a little bit and not take everything so serious and another part of me thinks…but you still can’t say stuff like that. Injecting race is almost always bad form and doesn’t really seem relevant in any situation, especially in sports.

The real tragedy for our local ‘media’ is instead of focusing on how good our team is playing, they focus on nonsense. It should bug him that the toe was completely non-competitive the week before in Columbus.
plausible, however he has a track record of making bits around race and equating racial injustice from the 40s/50s/60s to white athletes today.

I'd be curious to know where Murphy and Andy rank on Iowa Everywhere listenership compared to other shows.

The only thing I'm offended by is the people who keep explaining the joke. We all got it, the first time and the 10 times after that when he just repeated it.
To me that was the biggest problem. It just kept going and going. A one-off joke about it may have gotten a laugh and people would have moved on, but he just kept dragging it out saying it over and over, which just made it more and more awkward.

They said last week that they've gotten more downloads/views on the new show than they did on the old show. I'm guessing that doesn't take into account live listeners on the old show.

You know what I think is the most cringy/possibly offensive part of it? The fact that he goes on for a while 'trying' not to say white. If you want to make the joke, just ******* make the joke.

Either way, it is a dumb and lazy joke that is fairly offensive and possibly racist. And, like I said last night, this isn't the first time Sales has tried to compare a white athlete to a black athlete in a way that makes it sound like the white athlete is being discriminated against.

Do that once and it's funny. To build a whole skit over it is cringey. It's the difference between The Simpsons having Sideshow Bob step on rakes for an episode, and Family Guy popping that drawn out injured knee bit across multiple episodes.

My brother told me it was all about Hansen being white and I couldn't believe it. the last 2-3 weeks have been BIG swing and misses from him.

Hok fans/IA media shouldn’t be that surprised by a good RB who happens to be white.

It was meant to be awkward, and I'm sure Andy wrote it. It's satire and comedy and actually brave and edgy. It makes fun of stereotypes and society today where race gets tied into everything. I can't believe the knee-jerk shallow reaction of so many here. Has anyone ever watched SNL?
You shouldn’t be surprised about the softies on this site that get offended by the dumbest ****. It’s comical really what offends people on here.
