Apologies, if I wasn't at work I'd look into this a bit further. A friend of mine recently sent me a tik tok of the game Saturday where Dylan was lined up in the slot and Brock motions him to the opposite side. Just as Dylan is jogging past the LT the ball is snapped and Dylan runs into an Oregon LB #47. The reason this is significant is because our 270 lb beast of a TE bounced off of #47 like he was a 4 year old boy trying to tackle his father. Maybe someone else can figure out how to link a tik tok.

Point being, maybe someone remembers seeing it live, but what on earth happened? It almost looks like an NBA level flop, but not sure.

I didn't remember this happening:

I'm sure Soehner (and teammates) are probably laughing about it now

He looked like he was just casually running and not really looking for a hit. Got surprised and big trees fall hard.

More importantly, anyone have any video of how Kolar got so wide open on that TD? Or, insight as to what happened.

It looks to me like he was looking at the line blocking and trying to decide if he needed to block sooner, and then the guy was there.

Not near as bad a the TE, I think it was Charlie, not blocking #5 on the toss sweep to Milton.

If you watch the sky cam from the game it shows this play beautifully. Oregon messed up but it was a well designed play.

The defender took himself out of the play to make that hit. Looks like Soehner wasn't planning on hitting that guy and got hit while on only one foot and without any ability to apply leverage.

I thought that was not a good play call but designed for Kolar to sell as receiver and take defender with him

Pretty sure that play is designed to not block the DE, lots of jet sweeps don't.

It also seemed close to dropping his helmet and hitting above the neck. I suppose DS was able to defend so not at risk for penalty...I think?
