LET ME TRAINER MERGEOne of the most annoying, disrespectful, stupid things I have seen lately, is on the slow circle onramps to highways people gunning it, cutting across and passing me as I merge on.
You litterally cannot go faster than 40 on these ramps, but people are hitting it and passing me, before I even have a chance to merge over. Really irritating. :realmad:
I'll get over, but if you are tailgating me I'm going to slow down to **** you off.
So true.
Problem is these lane blockers "think" they are helping by enforcing the posted speed limit. I.e. since their speedometer says 65 and limit is 65 that person behind me has no right to get by.
What idiot lane blocker doesn't realize is that their speedometer is NOT calibrated regularily unlike law enforcement vehicles. So even though they think they are doing 65 mine may read 60.
I'm pretty patient overall, and don't tailgate, but if I'm following someone for over 30 seconds with no car in the right lane, I'm passing on the right. I don't drive all that fast, but I end up passing 2 or 3 cars on the right on almost every trip between Des Moines and Indianola.
Of course, their next favorite trick is to speed up by 20 mph when you try to get around them (or speed up until they're next to another car, and then slow back down). It's just silly....if you like driving in the left lane, just scoot over until people are by you, and then get back over. Pretty simple. I've followed cars for 3 or 4 miles in heavy traffic, with 8 or 10 cars waiting behind, just to make a simple pass that would have taken about 10 seconds.
You've never been on I-380 between CR and IC, I take it. I routinely have to pass people on the right and half the time, when I do, the idiot speeds up.65/69 between Indianola and Des Moines is absolutely the worst place in the state for this.
Wow, didn't know that. I almost always drive in the left lane. I always drive about 5-7mph over the speed limit and the left lane seems to be smoother on most highways.I got pulled over in Missouri one time for driving more than 5 miles in the left lane when not a single soul was in both lanes.. The cop gave me a warning, but it's a law in Missouri. I'm a fast driver and used to being in the left lane when I drive up and down 35, so sometimes I forget.
