Not exactly sure.
Sure, I would rather have someone be nice to me than an *******. Especially because the things they’re going to complain about to others aren’t major.

Plus, people generally realize it’s bad form to complain to mutual friends about someone.

And the way most people experience it (including I’m assuming you) is that people vent to others and then are at least cordial to the person’s face. For example, you complain about your in laws quite a bit on here. Are you sharing all those complaints with them?
I generally we don’t speak to the in-laws, and most times if they do something we don’t like, yes we mention it. I’ve learned that people may vent but are still upset and it just festers if you don’t just address it. If there is an issue, best to confront it right away. People may not like me or that I do it, but I don’t care, I never feel the need to avoid someone because they found out I was crapping on them behind their backs.

I will never understand game threads. Isn’t there a game to watch instead of posting? The whole concept blows my mind. I’m entertained by the craziness of reading them after a game sometimes.
For me it's for venting. I don't follow it just pop in as needed.

Like an episode of Shameless around here.

No complaints.

Still not sure what happened. Did some folks start posting inappropriate things in an NFL thread, get reprimanded by mods, and then go after the mods in an even worse way in Private Messages?

If so, I doubt if it was more than a few posters. Seems like that is what PermaBans are made for.

And if it is burdensome for the moderators to handle, either because of workload or harshness, there are plenty of others of us who would be willing to do our share to help protect the quality of our CF community.

What does "reaction score" mean?
And what have I earned "points" for?

You rang?
I need you to add in a couple hundred posts in the next couple months so you jump me in the posts per day standings (that don't exist)

On a separate note, it would be interesting to see a list of active users based off when they joined and their stats

Ban username and IP. We don't need that crap here
The former is easy, the latter doesn’t do much. Too many ways around it. IIRC, there was an IP ban put in place for poster, and it was an IP used by a large section of people… either from PF or ISU, or some large org. Essentially IP banning 100s of users.

And I imagine this gets worse with providers like metronet using CGNAT

I not sure how stuff like that works.

But I know when I log in to various sites like Lowes or Menards looking for a product they some how think my IP is from Illinois or Wisconsin and link me to a store in Chicago or Madison.
