Monte was clearly more injured than we initially thought. Hopefully he heals up enough to be effective in the tourney because if that's the best he can play when injured we won't see the second weekend for sure.

Agreed, hated the loss tonight, but not having to get mugged by the wvu thugs tomorrow is ok too. Rest the legs and get Monte healthy is most important now, tonight's performance will not hurt seeding either.

No one will remember who won or loss tonight's game but will remember two talented seniors go all out for Iowa St and Oklahoma!

They said MM had a hard time getting his jersey off he was hurting so bad.

Also, maybe this keeps monte from going pro.

Agreed, although I don't see any way he goes pro at this point barring a Carmelo like run in the tourney. He has a good chance to showcase his talents next year with a capable backup and primary scorer role. He is a late 2nd round talent this year, next year he should be a mid to late 1st rounder.

I think Monte's shoulder injury may have been more serious than he let on before the game. Based on how he looked tonight, combined with some of his post game quotes, it may be a blessing in disguise we lost this game and don't have to get beat up by WVU tomorrow.

My biggest fear is that even a week off won't be enough to get Monte's shoulder better. I'm no college athlete, certainly not in the physical shape Morris is in, but I had something similar happen, and it took MONTHS for it to heal.

Yea, if it's the rotator cuff them I am nervous..

People are fooling themselves if they think he will just be fine next week. This thing will take the offseason to heal.

Maybe, but he played 38 minutes, and aside from a rough shooting night, played well. Well enough that the defense still has to consider him. It's not like we have a lack of scorers. All Monte has to be is a respected threat, and a floor general.

I think we are going to see some kind of performance from Niang in the NCAAs. Guy is hungry and knows he has to take over for us to win right now.

He certainly left it all on the line last night. Wow, what a performance! Only Hield's 39 overshadowed Georges!

and that's great. But he was amazing last night and will still lost.
