Should we be worried

As a guy we all admire once said: "People expect me to do big things. I will!"

Do not fear high expectations. Embrace them. Let them fuel the excellence that brought you to this point.
Would it be bad of me to point out that that guy, right after he wrote that, died in the game the next day...

Too soon?

Many “experts” have ISU as being a Final Four team, beating all other teams in the MidWest Regional. Is that going to be a jinx, I know they are good enough, but I remember the screw job against MSU and Big George’s injury. Hey CW, you need to merch ISU nut cups!
Well it’s win or go home so I’d say starting Sunday ( pretty confident about Friday) anything can happen. If we play to our ability we’re a tough out. In the end I’d say it’s better they are talking about us than not.

I doubt that the team will be allowed to miss that Tenn St/Iowa St is the most picked 15/2 upset on the ESPNs brackets.

I expect them to roll TSU. Then pull away late from UK. UVA will be a battle. And if they get by them, Michigan is a toss-up at best.

That is about name on jersey. These brackets are about people who never watch hoop.

I bet a lot of horse racing, so I pick a horse after careful analysis. The wife the few times she bets picks names

Purdue, UConn, and Houston have more name recognition

I am not super worried about getting out of the first weekend. I think Kentucky is the type of team that we can make quit so long as we come out strong. They remind me a lot of Kansas. Its a collection of talented individuals that don't always play well as a team. When things start to go against them I don't think they will weather adversity.

Seems like everyone and their mother has Iowa state to the final 4. Social media sure does anyways

Michigan being down a key guard is helpful, their one big bugaboo is that they do turn the ball over a decent amount. If we play to our standard of defensive intensity I think we have a shot but I’m pretty nervous about getting past Kentucky tbh

That's why it's going to be Santa Clara on Sunday.

I'm going to guess—and as an Arizona fan I wouldn't expect him to know—that that guy is unaware of how tight the Houston game was, how shaky things were against Iowa, how back and forth the St. John's game was, or even how razor thin the margins were last season at Texas Tech. Iowa State's core has dropped some heartbreakers, but has fought through a lot of adversity, too. I take his point that sometimes doubt is doubt, regardless of how you played, but when there's really only one team you can't get over the hump against I don't think you doubt your abilities broadly speaking. Arizona is just a really good program with a ton of talent, and the ball has bounced their way twice now. And somewhat unrelated, if I were this guy I wouldn't be tempting fate right before the tournament acting like Arizona is just that much better because they've had very good luck against Iowa State. If there's one truism in sports it's that everyone's luck evens out

For all of you getting worked up about the media picking us to the final four, a lot of people in the media picked some combination of Houston, Florida, Auburn and Duke to the final four last year and that is what ended up happening. Good teams capable of making the final four tend to get picked by the media to make it there. There is no jinx or kiss of death, we are just good!

Kentucky has some good wins and some bad losses. They definitely have the athletes to beat us. If they put it all together and we aren't hitting shots, we can lose. And that would be super disappointing, but not off brand I guess.

Regardless of the why (and I agree), being underappreciated and underestimated can be an excellent motivator to not just succeed but to make a statement.
