Team storms the court to collect national championship trophy and BRE accidentally trips Randy who breaks his other leg? Not that I'm wishing ill will on RP because I'm really not. But that would be a fairytale ending.
RP started his career writing on stone tablets, ends it with a laptop. What a life he's led!
Does this make Hines the Sr. ISU reporter? I'm not really impressed with him either.
Well, not sure, but I can't imagine it can get much worse. Time will tell.
I wish Randy well. He deserves a positive send off after all the years of service even if we didn’t always agree. We are all getting older.
I will say that I appreciate that Randy didn't think he was better than the job (cough, cough TRAVIS). I also have my doubts that he asked questions that were that much stupider than any other reporter.
I wonder if the Register will hire another person for the Iowa State beat or if they will stick with one for us and 2 for Iowa.

Yeah...many of us thought that. Not all of us had the balls to say it out loud, though. (pun intended)
Honestly though - I don't wish Randy ill, I just wish him to stop covering the Cyclones. I hope he has a good time in retirement.
Hope he enjoys his retirement, but won't miss his coverage. He was brutal to listen to talk on the radio. As a writer, meh, his style just didn't gel with a lot of Cyclone readers as this thread would indicate as well.
