The plus for LSU is that Michigan would be paying 5 years of NIL to LSU for the buyout.
If by recency bias, you mean the past 100 years, you might have a point! Michigan was definitely better in the pre-WWI Era.
Once upon a time, I would have (and did) say NO WAY on Dabo. However, I think he would be welcomed back even by the snooty boosters who don't like that he grew up in Shelby County. I am back and forth with him, but I liked him as a hard working player on Gene Stallings 1992 National Championship Team. As for his coaching, he has obviously done a fine job at Clemson. So, if Deboer goes (which would not make anybody cry - especially if he loses to Oklahoma again next week), I think Dabo would get my first call.
You have to wonder if they ever did ANY due diligence and THOROUGH background checks when Harbaugh hired this guy. Did he have mental problems BEFORE he got hired or just now? As an employer, I understand the limitations, but he had presented issues before they handed him the keys. This is a shabby way to run an athletic department IMHO.
Well, it has been a whole two years since Saban retired!
FWIW, Before Saban became the HC, Alabama had 6 A.P. National Championships (1961, 1964, 1965, 1978, 1979 and 1992).
and
Alabama had 4 Undefeated, Untied Rose Bowl Championship teams (1925, 1930, 1934, 1945) before Bryant.
and
Alabama had four Undefeated, Untied Sugar Bowl Championship teams (1961, 1966, 1979 and 1992) before Saban.
My point is that Alabama has been playing great Championship football for a 100 years. Saban was one of the two most successful coaches, and it was close.
P.S. Michigan is GREAT too, and I will never forgive them for beating Alabama twice in one year and beating Saban in his last game!

Totally fair questions. Agree there is probably only so much you can look into as an employer, but so much of these coaching circles seem to be relationships and word-of-mouth. You'd think someone, somewhere would have had a read on him.
What I have a hard time beleiving is that he just recently started hooking up with staffers. Seems at the age of 40 years old, you're either the kind of guy that does that zero times or you're the kind of guy that does it multiple times. Especially when you just got promoted into one of the more high profile positions in college sports and there are eyes on your entire program given recent history.
A reporter covering Michigan football said he has made “creepy” moves towards several young females in the last five or six years. He made those comments in a podcast. Not sure which one though, sorry I can’t provide a link.
You know, after the bandaid has been ripped off and Campbell has been poached, I'm actually entertained to see this coaching carousel.
