They had their success mostly under Bryant and Saban, but Stalines won a title also, Alabama will be fine with the resources they have available, with even a half way decent coach. Just too much talent to recruit from in the area, success in the NFL and history not too.

Comparing Michigan to Alabama is like comparing the Dodgers and Yankees to the Cubs, one has had success for their entire existence while most of the success for the other outside of one short stretch was 100 years ago.
 
Besides Moore, in the last seven years, the following football employees at Michigan have had criminal charges brought against them:
*Ferguson Connolly, DUI resisting arrest and biting somebody on the way to the hospital
*Jim Minick, DUI
*Denard Robinson, DUI
* Matt Weiss, federal charges of hacking intimate photos of student athletes
In addition, Michigan fired
*The son of Bo Schembechler for being a creep on social media
*and a low level staffer for allegedly soliciting a 13 year old girl.

But they are judged only if they beat Ohio State or win a natty.

Having an affair was obviously the first mistake here. But to fire her and not think she was going to out you is perhaps one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of in my entire life.

It would be dumb for anyone, but this is a guy who easily could have afforded to support two families. Not only that, he had a job with hours and travel schedule that would have made it relatively easy to pull off.

Legally speaking, yes. His biggest consequences will be financial/professional and personal with his wife and kids.

I honestly don't even know what you do next if you're him.

You take (half) your millions and disappear into an NFL analyst role with the Chargers where you're never public facing for a fraction of the money you just lost.

Agree...his children are young...he could take the mindset that he is going to work hard to earn their love/respect/admiration by living in a way/lifestyle that shows that yes he made mistakes but he learned from those mistakes. The financial loss and public embarrassment is going to be hard to accept but when it comes down to it...he can show his children that he values them and atone for his terrible judgment. That wouldn't be easy for everyone but that is where he should start!
