Extra credit to anyone who sings it in French.
Word from a pep band member is that the sheet music was distributed and it's been in this week's rehearsals. We'll hear O Canada right after the National Anthem.
What on earth are those symbols beneath the French?? I must have missed that style in my diction for singers class. (Seriously, I have taken a diction for singers class.)
“There are great players from Canada in this league,” Ejimi said. “It would say a lot about (Iowa State) and about Canada if they played ‘O Canada’ before my last home game.
“It would be amazing.”
I know that it may be short notice, but is there any way we could get ahold of Jim Cornelison of the Chicago Blackhawks to sing both O' Canada and The Nat'l Anthem this Sat. The Blackhawks are on the road this weekend. I know myself and others have talked up his rendition of the Nat'l Anthem, but I don't think there is anyone within 6 hours of Ames other than him that sings O' Canada as well as he does either.
I asked Alison Lacey once if they'd let her wear an Australian flag on her uniform. She said no they would not, but she would have liked to have had an Australian flag in the building at some point. I don't see why foreign players can't wear their own flag on their uniform.
I was surprised when they did a poll on KXNO and 48% of people were against having the Canadian national anthem played. I didn't think it was that out of the ordinary considering they routinely play the Canadian national anthem followed by the USA anthem at hockey games (I've heard the order is reversed when the games are played in Canadian cities). It's not like they're trying to play "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion before the game starts.
