***Scottie Scheffler Arrest Thread***

Lol! OK, I think some are going a little too far in defense of Scottie here. In that situation, where you are driving around traffic off the road in the area of an accident with security and emergency personally all around, if someone yells stop you should definitely stop and find out why someone is saying that. He's not driving on a secluded road in a dangerous part of town at night. Let's use some common sense here. Not saying I think Scottie should gave been charged with anything and the cop definitely was in the wrong, but he should have stopped. Scottie even said he thought it was a security guard who didn't know he had been told by a cop to do go around and he was in a hurry to get to his tee time so he kept going.

He went WHERE A COP TOLD HIM TO GO! Additionally, he proceeded very very slowly if you watch the video. To be treated the way he was is asinine.

Did you miss the part where I said he shouldn't be charged with anything and the cop was in the wrong?

I also read the entire paragraph before you stated that. You said that Scheffler was in the wrong and listed the things he should/shouldn't have done, except the part where he went exactly where he was told and exactly how he was told to do it.

If you say so. I don't know how far he went after someone yelled stop, but he admitted in that video he kept going afterwards because he was impatient and in a hurry. Mainly I'm responding to the people in this thread saying you should never stop just because someone yells at you to stop under any circumstance. That's kind of a ridiculous notion. There are times you should definitely stop if you hear someone yell that, this being one of those times.
Not always a good time to stop for the "law".

I did not say he was "in the wrong", I said he should have stopped when someone told him too to find out why they were yelling stop. That's it. He admitted he thought it was a security guard and he was in a hurry so he kept going. In that situation you should stop. That's it. I don't think he is a terrible person or should be charged with a crime, and the cops actions afterwards were way worse. My goodness, how dare someone even suggest Saint Scottie should have done one little thing differently.

Yes, not always, but he wasn't driving alone on a secluded gravel road at night. I made this point already.

If Louisville was smart they dump that cop now, doesn't he have a history on negative interactions with the public?
Scottie saved the city a bunch of money, throw out the bad apple before it gets worse.

This is not a bright human being in question.

He was once disciplined for driving his squad car drunk in a parking lot making donuts...you know, like in Superbad.

Newsflash: Louisville has an extensive record that indicates that they are not, in fact, smart.

Pretty sure there is video evidence showing that was a lie within the police report. The officer who filed the report has a history of issues as well and should no longer be a uniformed officer of the law.
I haven't seen a video that proves it was a lie. There is no video evidence that it did happen, but the eyewitness account from the ESPN reporter seems to include parts of the incident that were not on camera.
