I should've added an /s, huh.It was Scottie's side that requested the delay though!

Why is that? You guys declared victory around 8am Friday morning and there still hasn't been any evidence in this thread that he's completely innocent except some hearsay from bystanders.
The Espn reporter Darlington has even collaborated the police story. He specifically said, " A police officer tried to flag him down, but whether due to darkness, misunderstanding, or something else, Scheffler kept going. That's when things escalated".
"The officer started to yell obscenities at him then hung onto the side of his car in some way. The drivers side. The car continued some 15 yards before he pulled to a stop".
So let's put all the pieces together, pedestrian has just been run over, its dark and rainy, police are probably on edge already from seeing a guy die, he's trying to instruct a car on where to go, car just ignores him and blows by. So let me ask you what is an appropriate police response taking all that into account?
I also don't understand why people think he was "targeted". Like I said before, nobody has any clue why the cop wanted him to stop which is a key point in the whole case.
To me it's similar to after a football or event like a concert. Light turns green but the cop has stopped traffic for whatever reason. So if the light is green you can just ignore what the traffic cop is telling you?
At the very least he's culpable for not being aware of his surroundings, which is still not good.
I personally think they'll drop the serious charges and he'll probably pay a small fine for reckless driving.
He obviously lost his cool, most likely from someone just getting run over by a giant bus and cars doing stupid **** that was threatening his safety.Jumping on to a moving vehicle was a bad response. No one should jump onto a moving vehicle.

Just curious. Why does this reflect badly on the DA? Scottie's team wanted to delay the hearing, the DA objected and wanted it tomorrow.Holy ****, chronic stupidity all the way up to the DA. No wonder that department is a rolling disaster.
end of story.
Don’t think so.Is an arraignment necessary for charges to dropped?
A DA with his brain intact would have dropped the charges already and there wouldn't need to be a hearing.Just curious. Why does this reflect badly on the DA? Scottie's team wanted to delay the hearing, the DA objected and wanted it tomorrow.

It sounds like the DA has agreed to drop the charges; they haven't formally done so yet.A DA with his brain intact would have dropped the charges already and there wouldn't need to be a hearing.
Scottie is playing in Fort Worth this week starting on Thursday. Expecting him to be there just for them to drop the charges is silly. It sounds like the DA has agreed to drop the charges; they haven't formally done so yet.
So, devil's advocate: The DA wants to use the hearing to drop the charges as they know the media will be covering the event. They may even offer a formal apology in an attempt to lesson the public relations nightmare. If they drop the charges today, there wouldn't be the formal court setting with the media present.
I agree the charges should be dropped immediately. But I was trying to provide some perspective from the DA office as to why they still want to proceed with the hearing.Scottie is playing in Fort Worth this week starting on Thursday. The DA?\/policw rep could call a press conference, guaratee the media would be thereIt sounds like the DA has agreed to drop the charges; they haven't formally done so yet.

Yes - But Scottie would not be there. It's one thing to have a press conference; it's another to apologize to the victim in person and where the cameras can capture it - again, just speaking for a DA/PR perspectiveThe DA?\/policw rep could call a press conference, guaratee the media would be there

What's the difference between Jesus and a Louisville police officer?I mean someone did say they may as well have tried to arrest Jesus, or something to that effect.
I'd be very surprised if there was an apology. That's basically admitting wrongdoing and asking for a lawsuit.Yes - But Scottie would not be there. Yeah you were our knight in shining armor who was waiting for facts to come in. Remember when you wrote these things at 8:30 ET as the event was unfolding. You’ve been full of **** on this entire topic and continue to be full of ****Why is that? Yeah they’re not going to apologize. They shouldn’t either as that would be admitting fault and open themselves up to a lawsuit.I'd be very surprised if there was an apology. That's basically admitting wrongdoing and asking for a lawsuit.
