No reason to trot out an inferior athlete just because though. Unfortunately, that’s what happened today. Diminishes the moment.
She's a national champion soccer player. I think she's a better athlete than most kickers.
There is no scenario where you incels would admit a female was a good enough athlete to play power 5. Mostly because that’s exactly what happened.
But in order to get there we need to celebrate moments like this. Most D1 kickers have been kicking footballs since they were young. So in order for a woman to win the job, she would also most likely have been kicking for years. And right now girls are not doing that in large numbers. But this is a step in that direction and should be celebrated
100s of D1 athletes play for reasons other than being the best athlete at whatever position they play.
Vandy had Covid issues and asked their student athletes who was willing to join the team for kicking duties. She volunteered. What’s so hard to understand? Vandy likely had to cancel the game last week without her.
Frankly, Campbell should go scout the soccer team. Ass kicker is ass.
