This would be fine.
No reason to trot out an inferior athlete just because though. Unfortunately, that’s what happened today. Diminishes the moment.

I give her credit and I am happy she made the kick. She has done a great job for girls and vandy did her right also. Just want a girl to do it because she won the job. I think that would go a long ways.

yikes

Sorry. What?
You quoted your own post. No one else has replied to it, and I am the only person who has reacted to it. A lot of posters on here call me Woo. It looked like you were replying to me or making a comment about my reaction. I was asking whether your post was a response to my reaction, and if so, what your post meant.

Well you rated my post as dumb. Are you defending China?

so saying she did a good job is yikes?
Saying Vandy did right is yikes?
Saying I can wait till a female outright wins the job is yikes?

you sound like you might be against women playing sports
Find a female in a position of note, maybe a boss or a police officer and tell her she's doing great for a girl. Post your experience.

Refer to her as a woman.

She did do great for a girl. See not everything has to be a hardline take in life. You can actually step back and say, good job girl. However, we also know that she got the chance because of covid. She did good, Vandy did good. We can also say “I hope a girl wins the job over a man sometime and that will do a lot for women”. That’s a reasonable take on the situation. You don’t have to be hardcore one way or the other.

I have a 17 year old daughter. She is a women, she is a girl, she is a young women also. Quit trying to act like I’m disrespectful of girls and women

It’s disrespectful in context and you know it.

Quit being disrespectful then.

Amazed by some of the negative comments here. She is doing something that no other female has done at that level which is an impressive accomplishment. I have 2 young daughters and this story has been a really awesome one to share with them and see how excited they get to see a female playing football. No one has been hyping her up as a great kicker, but the fact that it took this long for a female to score a point on a team in a P5 conference (even is she plays on a bad team) is no small feat and she deserves the attention she is getting as not only a lot of guys out there can't make the kicks she has but much fewer women probably could either. You don't think that they probably had the current players that could still play give it a try in practice before they had to go ask a women's soccer player if she could? Quit downplaying the significance of this. She had more pressure than any of us could imagine because there were plenty out there probably hoping she would fail and be an embarrassment and with all the attention she had on her shoulders and eyes watching her she has executed 2 kicks successfully so far and earned the respect of her football teammates as well.

Some here make it sound like anyone can kick an extra point. Well remember back when Mike McKnight and Tony Yelk were not a sure thing to make them for ISU? I remember myself saying that surely on a campus of over 25,000 students we have someone capable of consistently making extra points right? If it were that easy we probably would have found someone better. Remember the FG kicking challenge that Goose Island sponsored after Cody Parkey missed a big FG for the Bears a few years back? I'm sure some of the same douche bags downplaying what Sarah Fuller has done are of the same mold of the guys that talked a big game then looked like fools trying to kick a FG:

hiw am I being disrespectful. Wtf

It’s disrespectful as it implies she’s a child. She’s like 21. She’s not a girl. She’s an adult women.

Go call someone in your office/work girl and see how they react.

Calling what she did an accomplishment “for a girl” is disrespectful. It belittles it. We would never say Georges niang is a good boy basketball player. We’d say he’s a good men’s basketball player.

I would say that I don’t think you mean anything by it but since you keep doubling down, who knows.

My college aged daughter calls the ISU female bball team the ISU girls team. I’ll have to fill her in that she is offending the men/boys in this forum and belittling her own.

Does she call the male team the boys basketball.
