I thought about making a half-hearted attempt to defend Waterloo, but really, why bother?
I can't think of anything off the top of my head but need to find a way to be a little more derogatory towards Western Iowa than just "Steve King".

Agreed, but I wanted something that might make sense outside of Iowa. I'm not wild about all of these, but maybe I'll get some good suggestions.
The "worse than Detroit" was a dead rip from the New Jersey map, but I felt it was pretty accurate.
I can do better than "Mexico" for the QC/Muscatine area.
Excellent work Al. One suggestion, for IC rather than little Chicago I would put "Little Western Suburbs" or "Chicago/Illinois ***holes" or maybe "couldn't get in to Illinois".

The Des Moines area should probably be broken down into a couple of pieces. Des Moines vs. the suburbs are hardly homogenous.
Yeah, only the Western half should be listed as "better than you"

Being a city boy from Iowa (I know, it sounds odd), I could probably create a derrogatory map of just the DMS Metro.
This may be a dumb question, but who is Steve King? All I'm coming up with is he's Iowa's 5th District Representative. Is a horrible rep or something?

Needs to include something about Council Bluffs being too close to Nebraska for comfort. Perhaps "Nebraska Lite."
Since most people think that Iowa is flat (like most of Illinois and Indiana), you might want to include a reference to our "gentle rolling hills along rivers."
You might also want to indicate the parts (most) of Iowa that are inhabited by "more pigs than people."
And how about a reference to ISU as the heart of Iowa being resuscitated by CPR?

I had a more colorful response for this, but I don't want to send this thread to The Cave. He's quite socially conservative.
He's made some fairly inflamatory comments over the years that garnered national attention.
His constituents love him.
Check wikipedia for some of his more memorable quotes.

Yea, I think the reference is fine, it just needs to be elaborated. Something like "Bible-thumping Steve King Supporters" would work.
