Road Conditions .... Help

I am not elderly, but definitely too old to end up in the ditch. I lived in Waterloo most of my life and made many harrowing trips to Hilton. I won't do that anymore. Leaning towards going, hate to miss beating KU.[/QUOTE

Agree, I'm too old, & old enough to know better then risking things for a basketball game. But dang, I hate missing this game. Still only 32 and supposedly dropping to 30 here in west central Iows. Hate these decisions. Assume there will be tickets available from no shows?..but how do they become available if people stay home with them???

On a related issue, if you're planning on trying to get some cheap tickets on stubhub from folks that can't go - you don't have to print those, you can just open the pdf on your phone and have them scan it there. So you can drive to the game and buy tickets 15 minutes before tip off from your car if you need to.

Anyone know the condition of the road through Slater coming in the west side of ames? Kids had the day off for MLK day so I haven't ventured out at all.

I drove from Ankeny to Story City in 50 minutes at 6AM. Roads in town in Story City are drastically better now than this AM.

Shouldnt be a problem

I drove from Zearing to Nevada on the blacktops about 1:00 this afternoon. The snowplows had cut the ice off and roads were just wet where they had gone. They were about 40% clear (two clear tracks) on the one road they had not yet got to. Central Iowa people should be good to go.

I 35 North of Ames is OK. Icy under bridges, but otherwise navigable

Go! Worst case scenario, you drive home carefully allowing you an extra hour in the car to savor the win.

Hilton lots not bad.
Are you there? The lots are my biggest concern. My driveway is awful, never seen it more slick. Not sure how much refreeze get there will be growing from 33 to 32. If chemicals are down there should not be much difference.
