Which is fine except on obvious pass plays like 3rd and 8 when we blitz. Can't play 10 yards deep and give their QB instant outlets to throw the ball.

I get not playing tight coverage on say 1st and 10, because there's the threat of getting burnt deep. But when you're sending the house on 3rd and 8, you can't play 10 yards back and expect to stop anyone from converting.

And for the most part, we don't, so I'm not sure of your point.

Yeah, how many of them are there? Besides there has been about 2 instances where height was the factor is any sort of play.

I will say corner hasn't been much of an issue, especially compared to other positions, but teams like UT have a recruiting class where about 50% of their receivers 6'3" and above.

Well then it's funny that if height is such an issue those teams haven't beaten the **** out of our itty bity guys.

Impressed that our longest run was 9 yards. That is gitting 'er done. We almost have recruited that many backs. Averaged 2.5 yards a carry. That is cutting it. Ran for 59 yards. Those were tough won yards too. Never did see a hole up the middle. Maybe SR needs to run the ball more with our auspicious oley-line.

Pretty sure that's what happened on Iowa's 2nd touchdown. Brought 8, DB was playing back, wide open WR caught the ball, our guy came up, didn't get square and whiffed on the tackle. Sound familiar? Maybe I was watching a different game at that point.

So why all the talk about short corners? This is a useless tangent. The problem is Mess and complacency from Rhoads.
It was a tangent that somebody made when I made the point that we are recruiting undersized players in general.

But we really aren't anymore. Richardson is the last real small guy I remember us getting. Lawry was 5'10 but that's just on the small side, not incredibly small.

Is Rogers small? If the "small inferior" dbs were such a bad thing, why did reeves start 3-4 years? Because the taller backs were not as good. I would love to have reeves back this year

Rogers is big or at the very least average. I'll go with pretty big for a college corner.

Please. In 2009, we won at Nebraska, and looked halfway decent in a bowl game (and won!). In 2010, we handily beat Northern Ill, totally shut down UNI, won at Texas, and scored 52 points in beating TTech. We couldn't any of those things now. We've looked terrible in our last two bowls. CPR inherited more talent than he has accumulated since.

Stupid statement, season not including bowls
2009
Points Scored: 283
Points Allowed: 281
+2

2010
Points Scored:260
Points Allowed: 346
-86

2011
Points Scored: 282
Points Allowed: 355
-73

2012
Points Scored: 311
Points Allowed: 280
+31

More specifically the first two games of each season
2009
Points Scored: 37
Points Allowed: 52
-15

2010
Points Scored: 34
Points Allowed: 45
-11

2011

+4

2012
Points Scored: 47
Points Allowed: 29
+18

Then there is this
Sagarin SOS
2009: 71
2010: 24
2011: 2
2012: 11
