Rhoads has 4.5 mil for getting fired. He doesn't need another job for the rest of his life...so I can open this thread and post how if these guys don't end up finding work then we ISU faithful shouldn't be heartbroken one bit.
A. Rhoads gave ISU his all...why he wasn't successful isn't for lack of effort or caring. You want to **** on Gene Chizik...by all means I'll help.

Paul is 48 years old. Other than his familiarity with a high standard of living, it would be very realistic to live the rest of his life off of his ISU contract. Especially assuming he's squirreled away some of his money and not "made it rain" at the Lumberyard for the last 7 years.
ps. It would take the median US household 87 years to earn $4.5 million.

Most, if not all, of the former staff coached somewhere before ISU and have prior connections. Look for any still unemployed by the time of the American football coaches association convention to be actively campaigning for a job while attending the convention. I believe the convention starts the second week of January.
I am sure CPR is comfortable. He will take home about $2.7 million to $3 million after taxes. He might want to downsize his house and change his lifestyle if he wants to live off that. But he is certainly not destitute.
The assistants and lower level staff will catch on with someone. It may not pay as well as the jobs they had. Not sure how their contracts read or if there was severance to be paid. It is part of the business they are in. They are good people. Thank them for their service and wish them the best of luck.
Oh I agree- grieving is a lot easier when you can dry your tears with hundred dollar bills, but I'm sure these families don't enjoy the uncertainty. I just don't see the need to kick these guys when they're down.
To people worrying about living of 4.5 million, I'm sure he has been able to set aside a nice nest egg with the millions he has already made and I'm sure he will be able to find work again. Work that pays several times what most people make.

I don't think he is laughing at them for losing their jobs, he is laughing at the idea of these assistants being highly sought after for other assistant coaching positions.
I wish them all the best and hope they find a nice place to land for them and their families, but I don't see Rabbuk's comment as being offensive, either.
the question was about the staff. Not Rhoads. And the staff doesn't have a million dollar buyout.
And no one said they have to feel sorry for the staff. I just think it's a jerk move to laugh at the staffs future employment prospects.
The original post was an innocent question if those guys had found jobs yet.
well the next time someone on here posts about losing their job, I'll be sure to laugh at them and tell them they are not going to get another good job. Or someone getting a divorce.
Its not a huge deal, I guess. There are a lot of ******** in the world.

If Rhoads could have been successful and stayed here a long time, it wouldn't have surprised me if he made a huge contribution to facilities improvements somewhere down the line.

You aren't showing indifference. You're showing hostility. The jealousy inherent in your post is sickening. These men earned the jobs and salaries that came with them. Yes, Rhoads got a nice buyout, but his assistants did not. I'm sure that they have mortgages and bills that they have to pay, and they need to find work to support their families. Hopefully they've put away some of the money they've earned and are prepared for some time adrift, but for you to attack them as if they are Daddy Warbucks is disgusting. I hope that if you lose your job, those around you are more sympathetic towards you than you are towards these men who worked hard for the university that we all love.
Notice that the title of the thread says "Rhoads' Staff"? It doesn't say "where is Rhoads going?", does it? The concern for most of you d-bags is that the assistants and position-coaches don't get to live off of the 4.5M that Paul does. So, yes, there are some people worried about the former staff. What a bunch of ******* ********.
