Anyone else see the quote from Rhoads after the game about how he thought at halftime that all we would need to do to win the game would be to score 2 TD's in the 2nd half, but we were only capable of getting one?

What head coach thinks that way? This might explain why in the 2nd half our offense stalls out and looks like crap compared to the 1st halves. I wonder how many TD's he only thought we'd need in the 2nd half to beat Iowa earlier this year?

I sure hope that if he honestly felt like all we would need is 2 TD's in the 2nd half last night that he isn't telling the team that at halftime. That is loser thinking. You need to keep your foot on the gas and try to score as much as possible. You don't go into some kind of "prevent" and hope to hold on.

This is the Big 12 Paul, where teams score about 50 a game. You can never think that something like 38 pts is all you're going to need.

Meh it was accurate but it's also what I hate the most about Paul. Stop taking your foot off the gas Paul. Only time we get turnovers is when your line backers and safeties make a great play and rip the ball. We haven't jumped a route all year. Tired of this conservative second half crap.

think of it this way. he is probably thinking the defense is playing well and if can score ATLEAST 2 more touchdowns we can win this game. im sure he would take 3 or 4 more touchdowns!!
if you really think he is saying just shoot for 2 touchdowns and hope we can win, you are wrong!

But if in the back of your mind you think we only need 2 TD's to win the game in the 2nd half, is that changing your play calls or your offensive strategy? Do you become less aggressive?

Do you think Art Briles thinks this way? Briles, and most other Big 12 coaches for that matter, would want to score on every possession and rub your face in it and win by 50.

He's right, if we had scored another touchdown we wouldve won so... not sure what the problem is.

Art probably says If we can hold them to less than 50, we can win.

Because I'm sure he was only trying to score two more touchdowns and then punt the rest of the series.

This is such a stupid thing to be ****** about. I can guarantee you every single coach in the history of football is wanting to score every single series other than ones where they're downing the ball in victory formation.

Art is usually probably thinking about how he is going to cover up the next rape by one of his players.

Just because he thought that is what it would take, does not indicate that was all he told Sturdy to score.

I understand that isn't all he wanted us to score was 2 more TD's, however, if that's all you think you really need to put the game away, then do you take less chances in the game? Let's say on some play Sturdy says.... let's call a flea flicker here, or let's throw a bomb to Lazard.... but Rhoads decides on a run play instead because we can't risk a bad play here and besides, we only need 2 TD's to put this game away, so let's play conservatively here and punt this away if we have to. We can always get our TD on another drive.

I can also guarantee you Sturdy doesn't get approval from CPR on every call.

But this is what keeps him from running out of gas!

My problem is if he says we only needed 2 TDs means OSU would have just given up. They had plenty of time to adjust and score - which they did.

The defense was tackling pretty well, and OSU had to work for every point they got. Seemed calculated enough for me, as I bet his comment was in regards to how well the defense had played in the 1st half... and his expectation for that to continue.

I see no problem with it. Defense has had a few clunker games, but has done a decent job job this year overall.

Jump a route? We have tried that eight times this year except we cannot catch it. I think our defensive backfield needs juco upgrading. I challenge the defensive backfield to make an interception in the last two games. Prove me wrong.

Should have had one yesterday - but he slipped. I believe that was on a OSU TD drive, too.

Interception U say............You might have to wait until the middle of next season to see that..........

You are twisting this way around and trying way to hard at making this a negative
