RECRUITING: Michael Jacobson has committed

Yawn. 25 minutes a game....6 points.

I know this board will have him as Kareem abdul jabbar in 2 pages...not wildly impressed. Practice body i guess.

I'd love to hear you thoughts on Solomon Young's 17min 4.4ppg....is he just a practice body too? Jacobsen may not be a superstar but he's the most proven post player on our roster. Can't wait to see how both he and Shayok develop with the year off.

I like the pick up, I think he'll be a better player than most of the freshman posts we were after and I dont think he'll mind not being the man. Which is huge for the idea of being able to pick up a big time post next year.

Top 10 rebounder in the Big 10 and the #2 best offensive rebounder in the league. We needed a guy to get in there to mix it up and rebound. Hey man we got him.

It's easier to score some offensive rebounds when your teammates shoot for Nebraska. That's a dig at NU and not Jacobson. We're getting an experienced player, proven rebounder, and two years of eligibility. I'm already much more excited about him than I was when his name was floated awhile back.

Solid get late considering some of the spring misses and attrition of Carter and Kosongo opening up the post positions. He would likely have been morte productive than either next year is a bonus.
Jacobson can contribute ~20 minutes a game especially against traditional bigs that Kansas, TT, and TCU often bring to Hilton. I am curious how Prohm will want to use him as I really haven't seen him employ a similar player but the staff has a year to figure that out.

Welcome to ISU Michael, you'll enjoy your time.

The couple times I watched him, I saw lots of effort and work for rebounds. Kid did the dirty work. Also saw a nice 10-15 ft jumper. Welcome Michael...will be glad to see you in cardinal and gold!

Great use of an open scholarship. We get a guy that wants to be here. Has been banging around the post for two seasons in the Big Ten and gives us a solid practice squad guy for a year. Nothing but positives.

I was down on losing a commitment but look at this as at least an even trade.

Now we need to find some shooters.
