RECRUITING: Hans Brase sets official visit (COMMITS)

McNeill will be a starter

Whoa....hadn't heard this before. If its because he's 'that' good, we can fly with it. Or are you tricking us? You didn't say which year he will be a starter? Did you leave off the word 'someday'?

How does one trick in a lineup thread?

I expect McNeill to play a lot next year and I think he has a great chance to start in 18-19. Imo he's a better prospect than Long, and in some aspects of the game he's better than Wigginton imo.

The trick was referring to you saying "he will be a starter". Thought you meant next year, but now you say 18-19. So, all is good.

It's weird that we lose so many guys, yet have so much talent that could easily see the court. Typically you want to roll about 8 deep, but next year might be an exception at least for the first portion of the year.

Beverly or Brase would be awesome coming off the bench. Either one would have a significant presence on the court, not just coming in to fill some minutes.

Great news for this year and the future. Leaves the 4 wide open for Thompson in2018.
Now Prohm can sell the final piece of the puzzle to a grad transfer shooter that pops on the radar.

Can almost close the book and focus on this fall.
2018, if we can land 4 quality preps we'd be set for the foreseeable future.
My wish list:
Stretch 4- Thompson
Combo Fwd
Wing- Moss
PG

And sauerkraut.

Oh, there's LOTS more than that.......sauerbraten, rouladen, potato pancakes, Kessler ripschen, red cabbage, and Wiener schnitzel, for starters. (BTW Wiener schnitzel means it's from Vienna, it's thinly sliced beef tenderloin that is lightly breaded and sauteed in oil. YUM!)

So is the fact that Jakolby Long keeps getting left off of roster list just a mindslip or is there something about his performance that I've missed? Seems like he was rated pretty well coming in and has had a year to practice against some great guards, so I'd think he'd be ready to step up and compete for playing time.
Yeah, I notice the same thing. Is he viewed as not quick enough, I wonder. If he doesn't get playing time this year, he'll be on the transfer list next year.

If Prohm thought Babb was a starter we wouldn't of made such a push for a Grad Transfer wing. NWB is utility and will always be first off the bench at multiple positions. If we don't sign a wing Lewis will be starting by conference. Hopefully Prohm fills the final scholly and Lewis isn't forced into action that quick.

Long is plenty quick to play. He was a little forgotten due to the guard depth ISU had last year. He may have appeared hesitant in the very limited minutes he played last year but that is normal for many freshman coming trying to get comfortable on the big stage. Has the size and demonstrated a ability to score in high school. I am looking for him to get his opportunity this year.
No need to randomly throw the T word after a players freshman year.

Prohm is on record saying Weller-Babb has NBA potential so I happen to think he'll be the starter to at least start the year. I think most have some questions about his outside shooting. Prhom's push for a guard was to get an additional 3 pt shooter to help spread the floor in case we do see that improvement in NWB right away. If Nick's shot does click (35+% from 3) hell start the next two years.

I apologize if this offends anyone, but I think it's appropriate.
