If he reclassifies we will have an interesting situation at the 2G if you know what I mean. Assuming he's a 2G.
I don't think MT is going anywhere if that is what you mean.

I agree, if he comes in as a 2G next year, he'd likely be looking at a redshirt year. Not too many 4-stars are thinking redshirt. Maybe they're only looking at him if he stays in the 2016 class. If he reclassifies we will have an interesting situation at the 2G if you know what I mean. Assuming he's a 2G.

That would be good karma for us because I really thought Dillon Brooks was our's to lose until he reclassified from 2015 to 2014 so it would be nice to snag a guy who reclassifies to 2015 from 2016.
Not saying Thomas is going to transfer or anything like that, but honestly I don't see where his minutes come from next season. Naz and Cooke are both pure shooters just like Thomas. It's unlikely that Thomas is better than Cooke. If we land Diallo the rotation will be something like this I would assume:
PG: Monte
Custer
SG: Naz
Cooke
Thomas
SF: Niang
Nader
Burton
PF: Diallo
Niang
Williams
C: McKay
Diallo
Without Diallo
SF: Nader
Burton
PF: Niang
Williams
C: McKay
Niang
I really never felt as confident on Dillon Brooks chance ending up at ISU as you apparently were. Especially in hindsight considering his mentor got a position on the Oregon staff resulting on him reclassifying and committing almost immediately.
That said, just watched him play last Sunday vs UW. Dillon has smooth shot with range, good handle and looks physically like a junior. Too bad we weren't able to recruit him longer.
Bowen sort of reminds me of Brooks so I think we can glean the staff is looking for that type of SG skill (think BDJ) set to fill that last scholly for 2015.
Where are you hearing this from?
We have a team of great Cyclones, but that is just silly talk.I agree, if he comes in as a 2G next year, he'd likely be looking at a redshirt year. Not too many 4-stars are thinking redshirt. Maybe they're only looking at him if he stays in the 2016 class.
Knew I should have put imo. Almost edited it.
I mean Cooke shot 46% from 3 his freshman season on a terrible team where he was a lot higher on a scouting report than Thomas, and I'm sure didn't get near the good looks that Thomas gets due to us spreading the floor.
Thomas is shooting 33% for his career on a team that he isn't at the top of the scouting report and plays for a team that spaces the floor and he gets pretty good looks.
If Cooke is shooting that well for a terrible team where he's close to the top of the scouting report I can only imagine what his numbers are going to be when he's the 6th or 7th guy on teams scouting report like Thomas is.
You need a couple of PGs in training. You may not always have a Georges and Abdel and others to bring the ball up.I don't think MT is going anywhere if that is what you mean.

Getting Brooks would have been huge. His position is not a need, but he would have given us another scorer/creator this year.
Cooke, if fully healthy, will be a big asset, as he brings that extra ball-handling and 3P shooting we lack this year. Imo likely a starter as the roster stands today.

Interesting. You think Cooke starts in front of Nader? I was thinking him and Burton would be the 6th/7th man. Then Williams 8th and Thomas 9th.

I'm pretty much banking on the Naz/Dillon relationship being a huge part of it. I wasn't even aware of the mentor to Oregon thing. His mentor got an assistant coaching job there or what?
