If we land a high PF(Johnson, Abu, Travis) and say a couple months down the road another one of wants to commit would Fred take him for would he wait off for Vaughn? This is high improbable, but I'm bored.

if 2/3 want to commit before Vaughn is ready you have to take those 2. All 3 are very good and there is absolutely no guarantee Vaughn is going to commit.

I am also bored.

You take who you offer plain and simple. You cut off the position after you get it filled unless its Vaugn. You always recruit over what you have, that's how you get better.

They will take 3 schollarship guys and fill the schollarships. Then if Vaughn wants to commit we will make room somehow. That is how it works with guys like him. Say Naz does not play at all this year. You gonna keep him over taking a commit from Vaugn? No way. You let Naz know that he will get playing time somewhere else and encourage him to go there. You may not like that way of doing things. However, these coaches are paid millions and there are millions on the line for the university. You have to win. Vaugn will be a Cyclone if he choses. Weather we have a scholly available or not.

Agreed, whoever doesn't live up to expectations this season takes a walk. Top 40 talent cannot be denied, let alone top 10. You make room and do what you have to do.

Totally agree. First three that want to come you take, there is a reason Fred offered the players. Vaughn is going to take his time on his decision, you can't ear mark one scholly for him and tell another player who wants to come here to wait for Rashad to make a decision. As every offseason has shown one scholarship will free up after the season due to many reasons. Vaughn for even one year is a player you make room for. if Fred is willing to free up a scholly for Kane he will do it for Vaughn.

Update with Abdul - Malik Abu. Twitter had him visiting with Wisconsin's staff yesterday.

Iowa State: “They’ve been recruiting me for like two years now, so I have a great relationship with their staff. I know all of them pretty well.”
Also
Abu plans to narrow his list of choices down to 10 in August, although he admitted that list could grow to as many as 15 programs. From there, Abu will decide the five schools that receive official visits from him in the fall/winter. “It’s wide open,” he said. “I haven’t really narrowed things down. I will after the July period."

We have yet to get him to visit. I still put him at a long shot but would love to get him. Not only would be play a position of great need, but he is an exceptional player.

I also see him as a long shot but I wouldn't could ISU out. One major advantage ISU has with Abu is we were his first scholarship offer. Some guys, like Georges Niang, take pride in that. That could be very important. I would absolutely love to see Abdul-Malik Abu play for ISU.

Another article on Abu, ISU is singled out again... The more I see ISU mentioned with those bluebloods the more optomistic I am that Fred will get a visit from him and perhaps Terrell. It is safe to say Fred has made Abu a priority.

I’m being recruited by the SEC, ACC, A-10, Big East, Big XI, and B1G. I don’t want to leave anyone out because I don’t want to get in trouble,” Malik-Abu said laughingly. Duke, Kansas, Florida, UConn, and Iowa State are just some of the many schools who have been in contact.
Malik-Abu has also talked about teaming with Jared Terrell, his teammate with Expressions, at the college level. In that respect, UConn, Kansas, Florida, and Iowa State are all in good position.

I would **** my pants if we got Custer, Terrell, Abu, and Vaughn. That would have to be the most talented and well-rounded recruiting class we've ever had. PG, SG, SG, PF

Yes, I know we only have 3 spots open currently.

One problem with Abu, is he has said a couple of times in the past, he'd like to go somewhere warm. Most talk has Florida as the team to beat.

Just have him visit in the summer. And say yep it's like this all year

Hopefully he isn't basing his decision on weather. That's pretty stupid.
