Steve Bell@BankHoops 4h Muskegon 6-8 soph Deyonta Davis hearing from Iowa St, MSU, Northern Ill, Rhode Ild

Didn't come across a profile page when I did a quick search... must be under the radar a little but, the staff seems to do well with those. Of course if MSU is already involved too he must be somewhat known.

I doubt if many of these kids are as naive about "offers" as most on here appear to be.

ESPN Insider article on the current status of the Big 12's recruiting classes.
2014 Big 12 basketball recruiting primer - ESPN by Dave Telep. June 18th, 2013

Here's what he said about ISU.
[h=3]Iowa State Cyclones[/h]Who they have: Fred Hoiberg picked up his first 2014 commitment back in December 2012 when three-star point guard Clay Custer gave him the thumbs-up. Custer is solid, not spectacular, but gives the Cyclones a feisty floor general with something to prove.

Who they want: First and foremost, they want No. 11 recruit and No. 1 shooting guard Rashad Vaughn. The list also includes power forward Reid Travis, power forward Abdul-Malik Abu, power forward Paul White, power forward Jaylen Johnson, shooting guard Jared Terrell, center Quadri Moore and point guard Kevin Zabo. The Cyclones need more frontcourt pieces and would be unlikely to turn down a wing scorer as well.

Storyline to watch: The guy Hoiberg has been after the most has been Vaughn, a Minnesota native. Remember, Hoiberg played NBA ball in Minnesota for the Timberwolves, so there's a connection with Vaughn's home state. ISU lost an assistant who was valuable to Vaughn's recruitment, so we'll see how it plays out.

Bold prediction: The Cyclones have tapped into the New England pipeline for a smattering of good players this decade. I say they do it again and come up with Terrell, an ESPN 100 scoring guard out of Brewster Academy (N.H.), a program that has been good to Iowa State before.

Overall recruiting trend: Coming off the 2013 class (which included a pair of ESPN 100 talents in Matt Thomas and Monte Morris) and adding Georges Niang the year before, the Cyclones are on an uptick.

Not true. Matt A. & Fred are the guys for Vaughn.

Terrell, huh.

Interesting his bold prediction is Terrell, who many of us have noticed that it seems he has mentioned us the least. Abu, Abu, I want Abu. lol

Never would have thought Terrell would be his prediction. He seems rather knowledgeable with ISU recruiting so I wonder if we made a push again for Terrell. If that is the case, has to help our chances with Abu as well. Though I am surprised he didn't mention Cunnignham.

While we like Cunningham alot and he just camped here, he seems to be very interested in Big10 teams. After all, he is from Big10 country. But, yeah, hopefully there's plenty of mutual interest between him and ISU.

Agree. Wake me up when we actually get a kid out of the Chicago area.

I was suprised by the Terrell predicion too, it is bold (my first thought was Abu combo being the influnce here???).
We are a little late to the Cunningham recruitment, so Telep may not be aware the staff has put the full court press over the past month. Could explain him being omited as an ISU target.

Couple of other noteable things that stood out for me from Teleps article:
1) ISU (Custer) is the only 2014 commitment in the entire Big 12
2) The Bold prediction for Oklahoma was them reaching into Chicago and nabbing Cunningham.
3) Texas recruiting is really falling off, which we know but still looks weird to see in articles.
