Recruit Lists v2.0

NoCaro State has not had a decent team since Valvano days.

I know. That's exactly the point I was making. Gottleib brings in very big talent, but NC State is a perennial middle of the pack (no pun intended) team in the ACC. They have a 5 star and two 4 stars this year (as in they're freshman now), yet have gotten worse since last year. The year before that was a 5 star and two 4 stars. Being an 11 and an 8 seed in those two years, to me, shows how bad Gottleib is at coaching his prize recruits.

Alabama is in a very similar situation with Anthony Grant at the helm. Their 2011 class was a top 10 class in the nation and they're at least five games under .500 with all of those players still on the team.

How do schools like these, with no basketball tradition and a small fanbase, bring in such good recruits? It makes me feel like something is definitely going on with schools like this.

I blame Farnold Degand. He started it all.

Talk about another school that never does anything with all of the massive talent they bring in. NC State is right up there with Alabama and Baylor.

Do they have massive talent? Just wondering since I don't follow them. Washington is just a frosh and Abu isn't there yet so I haven't cared.

Warren is a stud for them but thats about all I know.

Never mind...I see post above.

Trying to figure out how alabama gets recruits is not to hard. Its cash money yall.

Bama looks at their basketball program as nothing more than a home athletic event to bring football recruits to in December and January, which means they will pay top dollar to bring in some talented b-ball players.

Hey Cydkar...new avatar is awesome! Saw that commercial the other day. I was rolling. It has everything...

I still don't understand why those guys chose NC State. It baffles my brain. Anderson and Abu would strive in Hoiball.

Washington high on us. 1 week before his visit, he does sudden visit to NCState and commits on the spot. Dad was happy. Who knows.

I actually don't mind seeing NCState do well since Bobby Lutz is still coaching there. But I wish they would quit stealing our recruits. Looks like Kyle Washington did pretty well against Syracuse last Saturday. Not putting up great stats, but he is still a Freshman.

What I thought would be funny, if if a good player at UNLV felt like his position would be taken by one of the 3 big recruits going there next year decided to transfer, comes to ISU and drops 15+ points a game. That would be the best karma for me.

Your post made me wonder what our ongoing relationship with Vaughn will be like. We know that the recruiting doesn't stop when a verbal is given (e.g. Lazard), but what will it look like for us to keep recruiting Vaughn. Or do we just totally let him go? It seems like we have invested too much to let him go until he signs.

I think we let him go.

I think we let him go.

April 16 is signing day, long after the tournament is over. If we go deep into the tournament and get lots of pub for Fred's "NBA style coaching," it is remotely conceivable Vaughn could change his mind and sign with us. I highly doubt that happens though.

The coaches stopped following him on twitter and vice versa so I assume contact has been cut off for the most part. Might open back up if something happens but I am sure Rice isn't going anywhere.

By this you mean to the NCAA tournament.

Speaking of which, doesn't this put them at like 16 players for next year?
