There's a group of us planning to attend K-State game this year. Never been there before and are looking for recommendations. Lodging, food, tailgating, etc.

On specific question I have is where they seat the visitors section? Some places it;s pretty crappy.

They will put you in the corner of the end zone. These are pretty ****** seats IMO.
I would check with www.tickets4less.com and see what they have for sale. They are out of KC. As for lodging, we usually stay in KC and drive over early before the game starts.
I hope this helps a little.

Hotels are pricy on game weekends. Topeka is less than an hour away, has plenty of rooms, and you can come to Manhattan Friday night to enjoy Aggieville. https://www.aggieville.org/events But if you want to stay in town, I recommend the HIlton Garden Inn or The Bluemont which is next to Aggieville and campus.

There's a very old but nice country style B&B in Council Grove that we always stayed at before moving to MHK. It's 30 miles south of town. https://www.cottagehousecgks.com/

As for seating, since it's Thanksgiving weekend there may be several options open that wouldn't be for most games. It will depend on how the season plays out, for sure. The ISU sections are 19 and 430. https://ev12.evenue.net/evenue/linkID=kansuse/core/seating_charts.html#snyder

As for food, the best restaurant in Kansas is Harry's, downtown Manhattan. https://www.harrysmanhattan.com/
We also like the Tallgrass Tap House for more casual dining and local brew. https://tallgrasstaphouse.com/menu/
The best bar and bar food is So Long Saloon in Aggieville. http://solongsaloon.com/
The best b'fast in Kansas is downtown at The Chef. http://thechefcafe.com/

If you're flying, you can come by American from ORD or DFW direct. http://flymhk.com/

    Here's a map. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Manhattan,+KS/@39.1927733,-96.5993358,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x87bdb7ef44c3632d:0xa9185d487312c7ef!8m2!3d39.1836082!4d-96.5716694

Really similar to Ames. Aggieville is fun. They tailgate in big parking lots. Fanbase is extremely similar to us.

Make sure you dump your beer in plastic cups. Have fun, and enjoy the nut kick!

Check out Cyrus Hotel in Topeka. Nick Babbs dad’s restaurant is down the street (Iron Rail Brewing Company).

As for tailgating, the lots next to the Bill are reserved for season ticket holders. But there's nice off-site lots just west of the baseball stadium that go for $25/30 a space. Looking at this picture to the southwest, those private and church lots are on College (see map above) across the street from the baseball stadium and directly south of Via Christi Hospital. An easy, one block or less walk to the stadium.

If you are staying over Saturday night, head for Aggieville after the game. Visiting fans are always welcome regardless the outcome of the game. Aggieville will remind you of Campustown before all the urban renewal projects.

We really need a support group for those of us that were there. When we got the ball back, I started gathering up all our stuff, wanted to go celebrate w other Clones. I was bent down, when the stadium erupted. I knew we’d find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Hope my oldest boy isn’t permanently scarred from witnessing that debacle.

Otherwise enjoyed my last visit to Manhattan. Stayed in Liberty that Friday night to get away from the blizzard in DSM. parked in a grass lot near the stadium. With our parking fee, they gave us cookies.

It's been nicknamed 'the Bill' since the renovation and naming, Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

This was back in the Seneca days, but we were seated in the 2nd to top row, end two seats of the corner facing the camera when we went. Looks like a few renovations since then, but we were so far back we couldn't see replays, etc on the big screen. We needed binoculars just to read the numbers on the players. And all the restrooms/concessions were at the ground level - so 4 flights of stairs down & back. Blerg. And for that we paid $45 each.
When we went on the CF bus road trip we were in the endzone seats. Bad angle, but 9 miles closer to the field. ;)

The renovated stadium includes toilets at midlevel for the upper stands. But the angles and distances have not changed. We sat in the corner before and didn't find the seats all that bad. Higher in the corner is better. That's where ISU's band will be if they venture down for the game.
