really?

People do realize he'll get other carries the rest of the season, right?
there were other short yardage situations earlier in the year. If you were going to use standard or syria why wait till now? for example trying to run the clock at the end of the K State game may have worked with a big back.

Syria and Warren were going to be awesome together for like 3 years. Now they're separated in classes. ******* stupid. Use Tyler Brown.

It's very possible the staff thinks Syria is better than Brown or Standard. He certainly brings something size wise that Brown doesn't. Do we really want our staff redshirting guys who could help us win games later in the year?
I understand what you're saying, I just don't get the timing if that is the case. Why not put him in short yardage situations earlier in the year like Wally86 said?

It's also possible he wasn't ready by then. People get better from game to game. Strange how that works isn't it?

Because he's a true freshman that has probably been improving as he has gotten more practice and passed other guys he was behind.

You don't burn his redshirt because he's not ready. Wesley looked bad at receiver and we just couldn't get anything out of the running game period. You're losing the game, don't waste a YEAR of his eligibility for a lost game. I realize he's going to get carries for the rest of the season, but what if ISU wins by 50 in each of the last of its games to finish the year. I doubt you'll have needed a big back for short yardage situations.

Don't use the redshirt don't. Just ******* stupid.

Come back when you're sober.

Please explain what you think Tyler Brown brings to the table that Wimberely and Nealy do not?

If we use him, Nealy and Wimberely can't get hurt, can get a rest, and it won't burn the redshirt of a prospect a lot of people were excited for. Plus, since we haven't even seen him yet, we don't know how good he is/isn't.

The apologists are going to defend every decision. Every decision is right, all the time.

You didn't actually answer my question. Plus, I'm pretty sure your last sentence is irrelevant.

Not necessarily, but this is one we definitely can't prove is definitively the wrong decision at this point in the season. In December if we find out CPR got it wrong I encourage you to bump this thread and I'll admit he shouldn't have pulled Syria's redshirt.

pretty sure the last sentence was the answer to your question. It's safe to say that giving a guy a damn carry or two to finish the half isn't going to change the outcome of the game when your down 28. So give the guy who isn't on a redshirt a carry and see what happens.

Please do tell what good things came of using him tonight.

He'll probably be used in a role over the course of the rest of the season that's generally significant. He may not be, and in that case we did waste a redshirt.

And your sentence said "we don't know how good he is/isn't" referring to Tyler Brown. What does that even mean. Rhoads should play somebody so fans can find out if he's good or not?

We burned a red shirt on a guy who will get about 6 more carries the rest of the year. All because we cant run worth a **** beater with our "studs"

It's gotten us this far, always rationalizing an *** kicking with various ******** platitudes. That's what Cyclone football is all about.

It's worth pointing out that a 21 point loss to a top 10 team isn't all that bad compared to some of the ***-kickings in school history.
