It’s a completely subjective call so…
Yes, and it was clearly the wrong call - objectively or subjectively.

I'm still nlt celebrating. Can't be too careful.

I was impressed that he didn't swear on air. You could tell he wanted toHeft called it one of the worst calls in college football in the post game.
The call itself I can't argue with as he did excessively celebrate.
BUT far worse gets done all the time with nothing and if anything happens it's assessed after the play.
He started high stepping at about the 10 for a brief second. It was a dumb call, but he definitely started celebrating before going into the end zone.
People are disagreeing and dumbing my post too, despite there being literal video evidence in this thread that he started high stepping before the end zone (looks like the 5, not the 10 like I originally said). Still a dumb call. Still a call that shouldn’t have happened. Still high stepped going into the end zone.Bottom is how I should have worded mine. Not a very well put or popular take, haha.
I'd change it but I want to see how bad it gets on the 'dumb' button.
He’s a Hawkeye.
Ok--I'll try this angle:
Don't high step into the end zone and it's a non issue.
Either way, I've never heard or seen of it in college when the TD gets called back.

What part about it was dumb? The part where I said it was a dumb call? Or the part where I said he started high stepping before the end zone. Because both of those things are most definitely true.I gotta break it to ya man -the post you wish you worded it like? It was dumb too.
Just pour a drink, sit back, and soak in the dumb ratings tonight. It’s nothing a few beers won’t take care of.
I was responding the a guy that was saying he definitively didn’t celebrate until after getting into the end zone. That’s just not true. I don’t think anyone in here is arguing the call itself is a dumb call and a dumb penalty that shouldn’t have happened.Yes. But the very minor high stepping was not excessive celebration. So the “literal visual evidence” of a player not excessively celebrating? It’s not a penalty. That is why people are clicking the dumb button on ya.
Nobody is doing that. Everyone was said it’s a ridiculous and dumb call.Anyone that is even remotely putting forth some conditioned defense of that completely wrong call deserves all the dumb ratings.
We've lived through Kansas basketball bs over the years...That was absolutely one of the worst calls in college football history. It happened to be against us.
