I will never understand this boner for adding UConn. Yeah, they’re good at basketball - and yet it’s football that matters and nobody gives 2 ***** about UConn football. Plus UConn decreases every school’s take, whereas PAC 12 schools don’t.

If UConn comes, I gaurentee BY has a plan and everyone's take would not decrease.

Not sure on credibility. Figure this has ACC big boys turning in their seats.

Unless they magically figured out to break the GOR that everyone has said is iron clad they can scream as much as they want and get no where. Also no guarantee that either of those conferences want them

I mean, yeah they could be looking for an out; I think they've been trying to do this for years now. Doesn't mean it's going to happen given the length of their GOR. But, if they have the money, its possible they try and leave anyway and accept the monetary damages and pay them out.

Understand the concern about UConn football- but are they any worse than Rutgers, Vanderbilt, etc? UConn might benefit from the financial resources the Big12 would provide.

The idea that UConn would dilute other Big12 school's media rights $ is wrong. First, UConn joining the Big12 would require they take a partial share based on what ESPN/FOX are willing to pay. Second, Big12 schools could take a cut of UConn's CFP money which should be $15M-$20M higher for UConn as a Big12 member vs. independent.

I think their only hope is to create the appearance of instability in hopes that enough other programs start looking (and find) landing spots so that the league can just dissolve.

For me. Large alumni base in major metros. Opens the NE where Yormark obviously wants a presence.

Frankly, we don't know what UConn football can be because they've never had a stable home and have never had the resources to fully commit. They're sitting in the middle of a huge population area with decent facilities.

We also don't know for sure what the financials look like with the networks because they're a unicorn. FOX may be more than happy to pay them a full share because it means that they can greatly reduce what they offer to the Big East and ESPN would get access to UConn basketball that they don't currently have.

This is exactly how you set fire to a house and try to rebuild it using only the ashes.
SDSU just said they cannot afford their $30mil+ exit fee. SMU? Tulane? His three best picks are unattainable or don't move the needle. If they want to maintain any sort of identity, the PAC has to be looking at Fresno State, UNLV, Colorado State or Air Force.

Agree but that is quite the longshot. The less desirable ACC schools have zero incentive to dissolve the conference. Compared to what their future could look like, their current ACC payouts are just fine and will be rolling in for another decade.

I'd rather be Wassu and win 75% of my football games and 75% of my basketball games, go to great bowl games, possibly make a CFP as the G5 at large, and have a great chance at making March Madness annually versus getting dunked on every year in MBB and Football.

May not be a common or popular belief, but just my thoughts..
But one of the things that makes college sports fun is playing teams you have a history with and that are similar to you. If you had the option to go back to the big 8/original big 12 (your call) or have Iowa State go to the MAC, which option would you choose? I’d go with the big 8/original big 12
