Oregon State fans on Twitter now saying losing Colorado isn't a big loss. We have been in your shoes before, say whatever you need to make you feel better.

On their own, I tend to agree. The PAC would replace and survive just fine. It doesn’t seem like SDSU is locked into the MWC yet. So they wouldn’t be a huge drop off. But if it’s just the first domino, then it is a big deal.

“Survive”. If the tv deal was so bad CU had to leave what is the next iteration going to look like?

I believe it’s only ESPN or Fox that is locked, not both so it’s not a guaranteed full amount as long as they are P5.
Some media "experts" have said FOX is on board with paying pro-rata even though not contractually obligated.

Makes sense for FOX as they haven't replaced their previous Pac12 football inventory.

But also from a basketball standpoint, where FOX will now show some Big12 games. I get the sense that Brett Yormark's coast-to-coast conference is fully supported by ESPN & FOX. Gotta believe inter-region games garner more viewers.

Locked on PAC12 podcast says the Oregon meeting is a standard and not anything special. If you believe him.

Yeah - because I'm sure "standard and not anything special" board meetings are scheduled "very last minute" (not doubting you - calling BS on the podcast).

Big 12 Checked their box

Now Colorado’s turn.

Gotta imagine the Big12 has an idea of who’s coming next. No way they’d approve #13 without a plan to get #14. And honestly, schedule-wise, 14 isn’t a great number either. So if the TV partners approve, I would think there’s a plan for 16. And now I’d think things will move very quickly for 2024.
