The money differences being what they are, every team in the Big 12 wants to be in the Big 10 or SEC.

Every PAC team wants to be in the Big 10 or SEC more than the Big 12. I don’t think it’s as much Arizona wanting to be in the Big 12 while the others don’t as it is Arizona being the first to exit the denial stage that the money and stability are going to be greater in the Big 12.

As for Oregon and UW, they’re either going to be high enough value for the Big 10 to offer, or they won’t. What they want will be irrelevant, and where they think they belong will be answered for them by the Big 10.

Let’s not act like there’s any certainty that the top value teams in the Big 12 in the future don’t start causing problems. None of the current teams caused problems, because none would’ve been helped by things like unequal shares while OU and UT or NU and TAMU were in the league.

Yea, for all we know Matt Campbell is going to go on a long run of 8+ win seasons and ISU is packing the Jack with 70k fans. TJ has things humming and the Cyclones are a perennial NCAA Tournament team and have a few Elite 8 appearances. And Bill Fennelly retires at the same time as Kim Mulkey gets run out of LSU, she hops a Mississippi River boat and makes her way to Ames!

And the SEC is looking to expand and adds: FSU, NC State, Clemson, Kansas, Colorado, Arizona State, Utah and Iowa State to reach 24 teams.



Yormark's job is to build up the Big12 over the next 8 years, to close the gap with the Big10 & SEC. And Jamie's job is to build up ISU to be one of the Big12's premier athletic programs and attractive to the P2.

I understand this position could be foolish, but I don't want any members who don't want to be in the big 12, or believe they SHOULD be somewhere "better". Yes, maybe we should "use the Oregon and Washington brands" for a period of time if that opportunity arose (I don't think it will), maybe they would actually stick long term, but I think they would bring instability and be working against us the whole time.

Yes, if we got a BIG 10 invite tomorrow we would take it, but we understand that isn't happening. I don't want members who don't understand their place, or value our conference.

I think Arizona might value the big 12 more than anyone in this current re-alignment period.

We don’t care if PAC teams want to be in P2 if they had a choice. It’s a different era

The reality is any school in Big 12, ACC, or PAC would leave for BIG or SEC without question. But it isn’t up to them. What’s being decided is which conference exists outside of the P2

What causes instability is horizontal movement. So it’s very shortsighted for anyone to not want Oregon or UW or any PAC/ACC school because said schools hope it’s a short stay. Their short stay creates a huge amount of stability by removing horizontal options

Getting Oregon and UW to leave for Big 12 would be huge for Big 12 stability even if they leave for BIG before they ever play a game in the conference.

Offer all schools low P2 exit fees if needed. This consolidates any value outside of P2 into Big 12

It also forces PAC to “price match” at a time in which they need schools to commit to being in the conference to get a better tv deal. The Big 12 already has one, so a low P2 exit fee only reduces how much more we make if PAC schools are added

If I were Oregon (or Washington) I’d be broaching the subject of unequal revenue sharing at this point. They have nothing to lose by doing so now I would think.

I seriously don’t think anyone has seen a true singable deal yet. Can’t do a deal if there isn’t one to do. Can’t believe the Conference of Geniuses can’t figure out that they are ******.

Warren's last day is April 17 so it will be interesting how quick the President's move to hire a new Commissioner. They have had time to have a new person lined up. But they might not feel urgency.

I do feel the Pac12 can be patient if Presidents see progress and feel optimistic that GK can close a deal. They have another 60 days before I see mice jumping ship.

But it's laughable when media folks use the Big10 signing their deal in August as a benchmark. The Big10 knew months earlier they struck GOLD, but adding USC and UCLA probably pushed their deal announcement back 3-4 months.

The B1G for sure. The SEC not so much. Every football game is winnable in the B1G except for Ohio St and sometimes Michigan, and we might avoid one or both most years (KF has made a living off this). Put us in the SEC and we would be the next Missouri. The top half of the conference is stacked and has a massive recruiting advantage due to location.

Which is a win at this point for PAC HQ

It seems that’s how desperate PAC HQ is. No deal to vote on is the best thing to do right now. Just public allusions to a good one coming, putting political pressure on schools to stay/wait.

And we know Oregon and UW are okay with waiting. They don’t want to have to make any decision before they know whether the BIG **** teasing is going anywhere. They need 4C to stay so they have PAC and Big 12 as contingency

Stanford, Cal, Oregon St, WSU are down for delay tactics to preserve PAC over schools leaving after seeing $22 million/school offer

Utah too if they don’t have a Big 12 offer

And AZ, ASU, CU have little reason to jump before knowing what they’re leaving…Except if they wait until BIG poaches, they have no leverage. They no longer can request which schools are included, scheduling considerations, getting help with PAC Comcast bill etc

Is that why Robbins publicly put an April timeframe? He doesn’t want to find out if new BIG brass send invites to 2-3 PAC schools, resulting in Big 12 doing whatever it wants with rest?

I would much rather get eastern teams after the ACC is raided.
Pitt, VT, NC state, Miami should all be available. neither the BIG or SEC is going to take a small private school like Miami.

I like the idea of adding Uconn, Nova, St johns, Georgetown for hoops. Hoops will be marketed separately from other sports in 2031 (so says our new commmissioner), and the Big 12 should strive to be the best basketball league by far.

If we do get zona, i can see adding a few basketball only western teams so we stretch from sea to shing sea (in hoops).

As a WVU fan, not a real fan of road trips to Oregon, washington, or utah for WVU sports teams.

Why not both? We added BYU, so why not add 4-6 FB teams from the Pac12 now?

Then when ACC schools become available add 4-6 ACC schools.

If in the meantime if Yormark can add a handful of elite hoops only programs like Gonzaga, G-town, Nova, etc. go for it!

The concern about traveling all over the country to play games is over exaggerated if there is a 20+ team Big12. In FB, play 5 regional rivals each season and that leaves 1 or 2 cross country road trips a season.

We haven't heard much Big 12 bashing lately from Mandel, Wilner, and Canzano. I think they hit the Acceptance stage. Good for them. Glad to see people persevere. Altimore is likely still in the Depression stage.

Or both, which would make more sense. Get to the size of the B1G and SEC. Then when they raid the ACC, do the same and get back to the same amount of schools in all three conferences.

I'd be surprised if we ended up with any Big East schools unless we let UConn in for football (and I don't think they're worth it at that price). Unlike the Pac they're not in an existential crisis at the moment, and I don't see them willingly joining a football league again given their previous experiences with that. Unless their current media negotiations go poorly they're probably not going to see much of a raise either considering the extra travel costs.

From our perspective I'm ok with that because the current strength of the Big 12 is that we all have a pretty similar vision for our athletic departments, and adding too many non-FB schools introduces different agendas. Since OUT happened we've prioritized stability and it's worked out incredibly well.

The Big 12 helping gut the PAC and sending Oregon St, Wazzu, maybe Cal to MWC level will be very motivating to schools in ACC to not waste the GOR and be in a similar spot come 2036

I don’t think it would be too long before WVU is playing ACC and former Big East schools
