Guess I was unaware, he's said it like 4 times, maybe I just need to smoke weed and live on the west coast to understand thenHe's been doing the 'truckstop' thing for awhile.

Bill Walton continues to try to troll tonight with "no truckstops here" Me thinks the pac 12 is scared
Yeah, it depends. When he's just rambling on about random stuff it can be entertaining. When he actually tries to be an analyst, he can be so incredibly wrong about things (like metrics, seeding, etc) that you can just feel Dave Pasch wanting to throttle him.
Several Pac-12 podcasts I've heard recently really go after his "style" of commentating during games.

They never play on Black Friday, they always play on SaturdayAnd that’s with literally zero football competion for viewers. On typical fall saturdays there are dozens of games being televised at once and they all draw 500k+.
Not too mention OSU v Mich was early in the day on Black Friday when people could easily have other obligations to keep them from watching.
You don't blame Utah fans (or other PAC team fans) for being condescending? It's just human nature to be condescending when threatened? Sorry, but I disagree.Realignment is ALL about TV money. It's not about jerk fans or great places to visit. It's about schools that can bring the Big12 more than $31.7M annually. For the Big12 they are two keys to that criteria: Brand & Winning Programs.
I understand people's takes on Oregon/Washington- if they aren't committed, why add them? We can all speculate what the next round of TV media rights will look like in 2030, but does anyone know for certain? So if Oregon & Washington can strengthen the Big12's product over the next 5-6 years, why not bring them on board. The Big12 can always incorporate an exit fee if they leave, regardless of GOR.
Same goes for Utah. If they can help the Big12 compete against the SEC & Big10 on the field/court, bring them on!! I don't fault Utah fans for being defensive, condescending, etc. etc. it's just human nature when the status quo is threatened. As Cyclone fans, we should understand this more than most fan bases based on what the Big12 has gone through with realignment speculation over the last decade.
Anyway… my point is still valid. College football has about 15 days of full slate football and another 15-20 partial slate days. They never play on Black Friday, they always play on Saturday
How does being humble and wanting others to experience some humility by twisting in the wind work? You don't blame Utah fans (or other PAC team fans) for being condescending? It's just human nature to be condescending when threatened? Sorry, but I disagree.
The Big 12 survivors all have one thing in common. We're all pretty humble because, unlike any other power conference, we've all been humbled by 3 poachings over the last few decades. We're finally at a point where all the prima-donnas is in our conference have exited.
I realize the wisdom of adding PAC teams to our conference, and I definitely think we should move in that direction, but I'd suggest adding only 2 (probably AU and ASU) to begin with. That will be enough to eliminate the PAC as a competitor. Then we offer UO and UW, but with no special privileges. Then only as a last step do we offer UU and UC.
Letting Utah and Colorado twist in the wind and experience some humility would do them good. The last thing we need is to beg other prima-donnas to join our league.
How does being humble and begging prima-donnas to join your league work? I'll save you the trouble of answering, it doesn't work. How does being humble and wanting others to experience some humility by twisting in the wind work?
To being humbled from something, then opens empathy for that thing in others. *shrug*
I’ll say it again, the near sadism about others suffering or being hurt, taught a lesson regarding how fan bases act online … is something.
I find it comedic that you speak of Big 12 survivors being humble. And then a moment later wanting Utah and Colorado fans to "twist in the wind".You don't blame Utah fans (or other PAC team fans) for being condescending? I didn't say I wanted Utah and Colorado to twist in the wind. I said allowing them to twist in the wind would do them some good.I find it comedic that you speak of Big 12 survivors being humble. And then a moment later wanting Utah and Colorado fans to "twist in the wind".
I guess we have different definitions of humility.
Realignment and media rights deals are business decisions about creating worth for the Big 12. I'll welcome my worst enemy, yes even the Hawkeyes and their fan base. If it means increasing the Big12's financial value and sport prestige.
I'm sure Jamie and the rest of Big12 AD's can stand up to Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Washington. Bring em on ASAP!

Not a very "turn the other cheek" attitude by the Pope.I didn't say I wanted Utah and Colorado to twist in the wind. I said allowing them to twist in the wind would do them some good.
You generally have two choices in life: be humble or be humbled. Unfortunately, many have to experience the latter before you can become the former.
Once humbled, then what? Want others to experience the same thing? Lack empathy?I didn't say I wanted Utah and Colorado to twist in the wind. I said allowing them to twist in the wind would do them some good.
