Guess I am the only one who thinks they are doing everything right. I understand I have a high hubris reputation on this board but this time I can't see where I am not following guidelines.

I haven't been inside a building that wasn't my apartment since March 11. I haven't met a single soul outside of my uber eats/instacart/ amazon fresh delivery drivers when they knock on my door. I wash my hands and arms diligently once I receive food/groceries or really any time I step outside. I wear gloves when I unpack groceries. I also hand sanitize regularly when I am out on my walks. Stay 6 feet+ from anyone at all times. Always wear a mask when I leave (homemade cloth mask on top of a (k)N95) and do not take it off until I am back in my apartment.

Call me a baby all you want but I've had blood clots in my lungs before. I've been on oxygen for a week straight before. I've been in a situation where for days where you are gasping every breath. No ******* way am I going back to that. I am high risk from that clot so I am doing my part accordingly.

This is spot on for me.

It took me a while to get comfortable with venturing out. At first, I wouldn't even run into Casey's for a pop or snack because "why take the risk." Also, my gym re-opened in early June. I didn't go back until mid-July, but once I saw there wasn't an outbreak there, I felt comfortable that protocols were in place. I realized it was better to take some risk with COVID and get my exercise instead of sitting on the couch (I know I could run outside but that wasn't getting done). So, some exercise was better than none.

For me personally, it's just doing the best I can to minimize my risk, while living my life too. I'm not going to any indoor concerts or bars anytime soon, but I'm also not going to stay shut-in, either.

I certainly wouldn't call anyone a "baby" for taking measures based on their individual scenario. Being at your risk level, it sounds like you're taking the appropriate steps.

There's been a masking order in my neck of the woods since May 1, I believe. Applies indoors and outdoors if you're in a group of non-family people. No need while exercising outside (very wide range of what is considered exercise) or at a restaurant while eating or drinking.

My son has been in kindergarten since mid-August. Mask wearing is required in school. His school is K-8, about 500 kids I think, and we got an email yesterday informing us that they've had a total of 3 cases of COVID, all due to outside school activities.

I do not know if there are any human beings who are truly a "5."

I consider myself a "4."

I also have a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my pocket when I'm doing any shopping or indoors etc. to quickly use once I get out or even while I'm inside.

There's now a pretty solid stock of it in most places and I'm surprised I don't see more people using this tactic.

Around 3 or 4. Not worried about myself, but if all this keeps my grandparents alive, Im all for it.

I have stopped paying attention to COVID though. Luckily it hasnt really affected my job or family. Ive also been practicing social distancing for 27 years.

I wear masks when I shop. I use sanitizer when I get back to my car.

But, I also will do lunch out with co-workers. I do not wear gloves when unpacking groceries. I do not wash a mask every time I use it.

But I also avoid at risk people because I know that I'm not following guidelines perfectly.

I'd probably be somewhere between 3-4 but there should be clarity on 'any time leaving the house' as that part doesn't generally translate if I'm going to be outdoors.

I am probably above and beyond on wearing a mask and distancing, I wash my hands a little more than usual.

I've seen very little to suggest hand sanitizer is how we beat this thing. Haven't cleaned or sanitized any more than I usually do. Some of the cleaning products freakout has to be that there are a few people who have found themselves with more free time at home because we are not going to beat this thing with Windex (and I almost never see Windex in stock). If someone is in a job where they can't take time to wash their hands I get the hand sanitizer demand, for most of us I think it's a distraction to focus on surface spread vs the incredibly real risk of interpersonal spread.

Masks in public at all times and distancing when possible are the ways we could have/should have mitigated this outbreak.

Cultures that had already gone through this with masks absolutely dominated vs the cultures where masks are a basically new thing. My friends and business associates in S Korea and Taiwan have had their normal lives more or less throughout all of this because their entire country masked up early and universally to the point where masks aren't really needed anymore.

I switch out but keep one on my dash for when I'm driving around...letting the sun do its thing.

I would add I have zero concern for myself. My mask usage is 100% to prevent spread and protect others. My 85 year old grandpa rides with me 3-4 times a week. I don’t want to infect him (and my grandma).

Sadly I think this could last for fifty years and a huge chunk of the population could never understand this truth.

I think it's more too stupid to understand it as opposed to people who don't care, although I'm sure there are some who don't care.

Yeah I’m not too worried about myself, but if wearing a mask helps us get through this sooner I’m onboard

Sanitizing\cleaning is how businesses pretend they are 'doing something' when in reality the far greater danger is from the ventilation in their space, which would be a much more expensive thing to change if even possible.

Yep. Poll options kind of wonky because you can be within guidelines without wearing a mask every time you step out of the house.

I wear a mask when going places indoors and when in proximity to others outdoors

But I've not been going to bars/restaurants since this all started so risk has been reduced that way.

Same here. Take out or delivery on occasion. Even during the summer we skipped any of the outdoor spaces people had set up for dining or the local breweries. I really enjoy craft beer and that was a big part of a date night for the wife and I, to just go have a couple of beers at a local brewery. That was by far the hardest hardship for me. I do really miss the beer gardens. I did do curbside pick up and breweries, but it's just not the same and really lacking the social aspect of hanging out at a brewery.

I wear a mask anytime I'm in public indoor spaces, although those places are limited. I go to the grocery story at non-peak hours and will only go to restaurants that are requiring masks of staff and customers (when not at the table, obviously). I carry hand sanitizer and use before and after I go into any place. I recently started keeping disposable gloves in my car for when I need to get gas.
