ranking predictions

The number of Iowa fans will be equal to the number of Iowa fans that called into the ISU ticket office immediately to buy tickets to the game, which can't be that high. Not going to be a lot of ISU fans selling tickets now, and won't be hardly any available on the market.

I disagree. When I was a student at Iowa State I knew a number of other students that were more hawkeye fan than Cyclone fan. They still got season tix to both basketball and football and went to the game and would root on the Cyclones as long as they weren't playing the Hawkeyes.

I'm not saying whether this is right or wrong, what I am saying is that there will be hawkeye fans that "get" tickets without much difficulty because they will already have tickets from being a season ticket holder. Hilton could still be rocking, but it might take a hit this game.

It's not just this rivalry, it's any in-state or border battle rivalry. K-st vs KU, Mizzou vs KU (when it happened) is similar, Packers vs Vikings always has a good chunk of both fans at either game, Packers vs Bears, Cubs vs White Sox, Yankees vs Redsox... it's a reality. When both fanbases are so close physically together, there will be a mixture of fanbases that attend the games.

This is neither here nor there though, I think we will be 17 in AP and 21 in Coaches.

Where are you expecting these Iowa fans to get tickets other than the student section? for 1,000 Iowa fans, that would mean at least 300 or so students would be Iowa fans? I seriously doubt that will be the number. There are way too many passionate ISU students right now.

I have trouble imagining 200 finding tickets.
If people are selling to Iowa fans for less than 4 figures/seat, something is terribly wrong.

I wasn't sure how many tickets opposing fans usually get when it's a big game. But the point stands, there shouldn't be any let up of Hilton Magic on the hawk players. Can't wait to see who the student section targets. My early bets on Aaron White but Adam Woodbury is also a possibility.

No doubt on Aaron White.
I wouldn't be surprised if Uthoff was targeted as a 'thug transfer.'

Aaron White better be mentally strong. They will be all over that. Apologies may abound.

Honestly just don't understand why Seth Davis (or anyone, for that matter) would have Iowa ranked over Iowa State. I mean, is it based on their dominant 8 point victory over Nebraska-Omaha?

Seth Davis is a strange man. Iowa hasn't played a team yet with a pulse!
Here are some interesting facts on Seth Davis.
Davis was born and raised in Potomac, Maryland.
Seth Davis graduated from Duke University
Davis is the son of Lanny Davis, advisor for former President Bill Clinton.
Davis has performed stand-up comedy in various clubs throughout New York City (this might explain some things)

I don't care about Seth Davis' rankings but he's unwatchable at tournament time. Where Iowa and ISU are respectively ranked right now is pretty irrelevant since they play shortly. He's obviously ranked based on pre-conceived notions.

Some these I don't get the "Sonny Moore Computer Rankings" has Kansas at #32 and Iowa at #5?

Some of these rankings are complete garbage.

Everything equalizes out after ~10-12 games... right now majority of the computer rankings don't have enough games to accurately predict
