Was mowing a site one day and looked up when i came around a corner to see that staring at me. Can be intimidating at bit even though you think of owls and being nice.
We have a pair of barred owls in our woods - their preferred resting trees are close to the house. I love watching them - I've even been able to watch the female teach a juvenile to hunt, sort of. She was watching it flop around on a branch chasing a squirrel that was clearly toying with it. :)

"In" unless there's an actual line on the floor or ground. Then I will stand "on" the line, regardless of whether there's a line to be in.
Well yeah, but you're either "in line" or "on a/the line", right? Unless of course you are standing on top of people in line, therefore making you on line? Or something like that...

But do you ask someone who is going somewhere if you can "come with?"

I'm not even asking about duck, duck, green duck.

I thought it was grey duck? But it isn't.

Husband had a gal in his friend circle at ISU from St Cloud. She didn't understand the word "casserole", and when described, she says "Oh, a hot dish!" So hubby and his best friend start giving her crap. "So what do you make a hot dish in? A hot dish dish?" Couple of days later, she comes back with "My mom says it's a hot dish glass pan."

Fast forward several years later, and we're invited to her wedding. Made sure we were the ones to buy her the small Corningware set they registered for, just so we could attach the note "Now you have your own hot dish glass pan." :D

Well I scored good uncle points today. UNI niece is moving into house next semester, when listening to the radio a guy was giving away a kitchen table and chairs, so I checked with her mom and went and picked them up. Ended up with a table and 5 chairs. Pretty sure it is nicer than my first kitchen table.

Afternoon was going to a meeting to keep my pesticide license. Now to work on Christmas stuff again.

Tire, temper, or diaper???

Diaper. I smelled it a little but thought "MrsWx should be home soon...I will let it ride until then". MrsWx didn't get there as fast as I thought so I gave in and attempted to change it. Thankfully she got there shortly after I started as **** was getting everywhere.

Also, pretty sure I have a name pickes out, but any suggestions? ISU related?

Random Thursday thoughts:

1. ETA for niece and family who are driving from Montana to Indy is 11:00 for an overnight here. Desperately trying to little boy and toddler proof my adults only bachelor house. It's hopeless, going to have to tie them up when they get here.

2. Went to my old bosses retirement coffee today. New chief of project management and another PM both seriously asked me if I'd come back as a rehire. I laughed out loud.

3. I think the nerve the nurse stabbed in my right arm last Thursday may be getting better. Either that or I am getting better at not making the arm moves that trigger it. Anyway, more tingly numb vibs than shooting hot needle in your fingers type pain.

Love owls.

Saw a PBS thing a few months ago about them...their abilities are amazing.

Sounds kind of like what I bake my pies in - 8 or 9 inch glass pie tins. :D
