It’s a ******* process. Just got a call from them. Both tires need replaced and then of course alignment. I’ve got an oil change in there too, but that safety check just turned into a $400 bill.

400 bucks for 2 tires?? They are bending you over. I put 4 20” tires on the suburban a year or so ago for $500. The first set lasted 80k miles and still probably would have been legal for 5-7k miles. I put the same ones back on so I would never need to replace them again.

My chore truck has one wiper that works and one that will if it feels like it. Besides two big cracks in the windshield. Probably a few other things also.

Two tires, alignment, the price of the safety check, some random bulb supposedly out. About $350. The oil change isn’t required, but I want it done before driving to Iowa next week.

Bought the wife an equinox for a work vehicle last year. A headlamp bulb went out. I had to crank the wheel all the way in and start pulling stuff off in the wheel hub to just get to the bulb. A lot of blind grabbing and feeling around. Felt like a teenager shoved into a closet at a party with a girl.

I had to do that recently on our Traverse. Being a teenager in that situation would have been more awkward and nerve wracking but I would end up with fewer cuts and scrapes on my hands.

Ran the lawn mower and pressure washer dry. It's that one time a year where the sound of a sputtering motor is a good thing. Time to go back out and maybe assemble some of the more plant critical sections of my winter Rabbit Maginot Line.

Oh, and I think some small mammal is dead in my garage somewhere. My Boxster olfactory senses went all tingly at a whiff of death but I am not finely tuned enough to track it down.

Dark so done with yard work for the year. Well, that it's ******* snowing.

Off to Menards, need two-cycle oil for "Fran" the vintage Toro snowchucker and some new coated chicken wire for upgrading the Rabbit Maginot Line.

So I posted a clip of the Texas non-fumble fumble with Jeremiah George on the alumni twitter page and somebody flagged it as potentially sensitive content.

I can’t say I disagree.
