And my son would be mad if I didn't include this one:

He did his presidential report on Hoover because Iowa.

Pretty cheap entertainment. Costs about $15 for the bag of tiles. Basically, everyone draws a certain number of tiles, and you each make your own crossword puzzle. When someone uses all theirs, they say peel, and everyone has to draw another. Once they are gone from the middle, first one to use theirs up wins. You can break down and rearrange your crossword as you see fit throughout the round. Pretty fun!

We have the game but directions were lost. I never played because I had no idea what I was supposed to do.

My ex-wife and kids finally barred me from playing Trivial Pursuit with them. I retired undefeated.
I'm sure KC would be a good challenge in this. My brother came back from Portland to visit. He said that when he played TP with his friends, it would be him against all the rest. His siblings and his mother kicked his azz, BTW.

I am competitive, and have a reasonably large vocabulary, so...

My wife used to tell me not to use big words with the girls, when they were little. I called BS on that. If they didn't understand me, they could always ask for a clarification.
Learning through context and repetition is how humans learn their first language. They can learn a lot of more complex words the same way. I agree with you.

We used to play Boggle. My sister could look at those letters and come up with all sorts of words. She would still be writing when the time ran out. I would look and come up with "it" "at" and maybe "cat"

Bananagrams is not really my game. MrsWxs family used to play it quite a bit but my attention span and slow brain function for that kind of thing along with the fact that I could never seem to come up with more than three or four letter words made it less than enjoyable for me. A dispute over a word at a Thanksgiving I think was the nail in the coffin for me.

Whatever happened to Bobbie. It seems like she disappeared.

See did

In 1983, Bobbie Gentry, for the first time in her career, canceled a show – a gig she was scheduled to perform with Mac Davis. A self-declared workaholic, Bobbie Gentry worked through broken bones, broken hearts, and sheer exhaustion. Aside from a few industry events, Bobbie Gentry never appeared in public as a performer again. She simply hung up her heels and vanished, leaving us only her music and everything she already told us, for anyone who wants to listen.

Letterkenny folks, how many episodes and seasons have you seen? I've gotten through season five espisode five. I know there is an epi 6, but couldn't get it off the bootlegs.

Think I am at end of S4. Might be a good rainy day check in to S5.

Pitter patter

I believe we are somewhere into season 4 right now. Haven't watched in a few weeks.

The wedding and spelling bee ones I have liked in five so far. Peaches is the singer for the fight song in episode one. The beat got stuck in my head.
