boo hiss, they play at noon tomorrow. And it's a ranked team game. Dangit! We have to drive 2+ hours one way (suppose it'll be more like 3 with an infant?) for a family thing. Starts at about noon. Maybe I'll just be that person and watch on my phone. Not like anyone wants to see me or DH anyway, they just want the baby. I'm nervous about how he'll do in a long car ride plus being passed around all day in a loud house with kids trying to get all over him. I think I'll pull the "he's hungry, give him back" card several times to give him a break. Even though I would think just being held while chilling/sleeping would be fine, I think he's becoming more alert and gets overstimulated. Yesterday and Sunday we had people over holding him and both nights he was a bear to get to sleep. Last night he didn't sleep more than 2.5 at a time. Plus he was fussy most of the day - except when friends held him - so I got no happy cuddle time with him :(

Oh joy.

Guess who gets to go watch the TOE in person tomorrow?

Guess who's going to "root"* for the other team (her dad's alma mater)?

"-Remember....no cheering in the press box.

And things just got more interesting...

Thought I could take the husband's car up to IC. Nope.

My car.

The one with the ISU vanity plate on it.

Garage parking pass...but still. Just be glad it isn't Cy-Hawk week?

Infants usually travel decent. Besides, just do what we did, one would drive, the other would ride in back and keep the baby content. Feel like driving miss daisy (reminds me I never saw this movie either for that thread)

@cowgirl836 you may want to put sunscreen on him. I think Z overheated on her first long drive and looked a bit pink. She was fine after a while, but I was really scared.

Are you leaning one way or the other on it?

I definitely want to do it. I’ve never actually even been out that way, other than driving though to North Carolina, but it seems like a place I’d enjoy living. And it’s a job that seems rewarding because it helps children and teens that are struggling in school and helps to prepare them for college and stuff. It’s still a business that expects to be able to make a profit to pay the bills, but in every one of my interviews that part was almost an afterthought compared to their focus on relationship building with the kids and their families, so that’s kind of cool.

Only downside is the pay is about $5k less than I was previously making, and cost of living is significantly higher there than Minneapolis, closer to Hawaii than Minnesota. Bonus potential is up to double than what I was previously making and is paid out once a month instead of annually, but it doesn’t start until January after an introductory period, so it’s a matter of 1. Can I find a reasonably enough priced place and 2. Can I make my savings stretch enough to get to the period when the bonus starts paying out without stretching it so thin that I put myself in a bad spot. It would have been a snap easy decision if it was the beginning of June, but I haven’t worked since May. That crap takes a toll on your bank account. (Note: I’m far from broke, I’m just the type of person that thinks out the worst case scenarios that could happen between now and January when it comes to financials.)

At the least, I think I’m going to at least go back and see if there’s flexibility on the salary.

So is it a tax exempt org? Just curious.
yeah. Sounds potentially more rewarding than managing the delivery preparation. Good luck! I hope they can one up with a bit more salary for you!
I’m not positive, but I highly doubt it’s tax exempt. It’s definitely for profit. It’s just run by a bunch of educators, not business people, so their focus is elsewhere as long as they’re making enough to pay their bills. They specifically wanted someone outside of the education field with a business specific background to bring on board to help even teach them more about running a business.
